Chapter 5 The view in Switzerland was uplifting, spectacular and a perfect time to relish the lush sights. Picasso’s chalet sat comfortably in the foothills overlooking the spellbinding Lauterbrunnan valley. It was a perfect setting to cast off unnecessary unrest while gazing at snow covered mountain peaks. His home was warm, rustic and beautifully decorated. A few of his early drawings were strategically hung on the walls but no paintings could be seen. A massive stone fireplace filled a major portion of one wall and the furniture was spectacular; the design of each piece captured the look of his paintings.
