Chapter 4 Spring in Paris defied description! The trees and flowers were in full bloom, birds descended on the city to dine on their food that had been prepared by icy weather, people flocked to the parks throughout Paris and the love for our new home resonated in all aspects of life. One dulling aspect of the society around us was the growing hint of anti-American feelings that was seeping into everyday life. One of my favorite pastimes was browsing in the many small bookstores situated throughout the city.
