I felt cramps under my stomach. I woke up to the pain and shrugged on my stomach.
“Ouch, it hurts!”
I woke up groping my stomach and went near my desk to have some water. The each that step I took, the more pain I felt. It went up like a vibration.
I sat on my chair and drank some water from the bottle. I heard my stomach making noises.
“I’m hungry!”
I took my bottle and started walking downstairs. I looked at the clock past the tv that srtiked at 1 midnight.
I sighed. I turned on all the living room lights because I didn’t wanna experience something that I did the last time. I turned on the kitchen lights too.
I went in the kitchen and looked for something that I could eat.
OH YEAH, I REMEMBERED.
I opened the cupboard and took my cereal carton. I poured some milk from the fridge in my bowl and then added some cereals. I took a spoon and took the bowl to the dining. I started eating it.
I could make my mind to stop thinking about those red eyes. It even glitched me twice infront of my eyes and running here and there.
My stomach felt better with that chilled milk. The lights on the dining area blinked twice.
“f**k! What’s now?”
The red eye glitched at every darkness of the room. My heart raced. I felt a hand running through my shoulder.
“I’ll kill you!” I startled up and looked behind.
It was my mom.
“Charley!”
“What are you doing here?”
I exhaled sharply and I felt my heart at its place. I sat back down and started having my food again.
“Never mind mom”
She patted my shoulder.
“You could have asked me if you were hungry”
I looked at her and gave a gentle smiled.
“I thought not to disturb you”
She kissed me and went in the kitchen with her water bottle.
“Mom?”
She hummed back.
“Do you know why am I like this?”
She paused and appeared in front of me.
“Like what?”
I tucked in my lips and hesitated but I made it to ask.
“Why my odds are bad?”
She dropped her expression and sighed.
“It’s something hereditary, dear”
“Passes from your dad…”
I replied nothing but just nodded.
“Can’t we break it?”
She continued to the kitchen to fill up her bottle.
“We can, hon”
I nodded and felt tears running through my cheeks. I wiped it out quickly before she could see it. I finished my bowl and washed it in the sink.
“Have a goodnight, dear” my mom smiled.
“Good night, mom”
“Thank God you came or else I would’ve scared the s**t out of me by myself to turn off all the lights and run upstairs not to get a seek by demons!” I laughed.
She laughed and shook her head. I waved her off and made up to my bed.
I woke up to the sunlight flashing through the window.
I stretched out saw my mom waiting on the edge of my bed.
“Mom?”
She smiled.
“Good morning, sunshine!”
“How are you feeling now?”
I nodded my head.
She patted me.
“I’m leaving work soon, I’ve prepared you everything”
“Don’t forget to take your supplements and your food”
“Okay mom”
She resumed and then paused again for a minute.
“Honey, spend your month nicely”
“You know that we’ll be leaving next month”
“And start to pack up your things, alright?”
I nodded. She waved off and left my room. I heard the keys jangling downstairs.
