Janus was grateful that Richard was present as he was led forwards to the custody sergeant’s desk. He had no idea of what to expect and was understandably nervous but Richard’s being there stopped him from being afraid. He knew that Richard wouldn’t let anything untoward happen to him.
The custody officer, Sergeant Petersen, looked the suspect up and down and spoke to the arresting officers.
“So, why has Mr...?”
PC Boothroyd looked at Richard.
“Detective Inspector Crossman here advised the suspect not to say anything and that’s exactly what he’s done.”
The custody officer sighed. He knew Richard by reputation. With the DI involved, he knew this wouldn’t be an open and shut case.
Richard approached the desk.
“The suspect’s name is Janus Westbrook
