Julie had gone to the police station as soon as she heard what had happened but they wouldn’t let her see Janus. The only blessing was that she’d taken his epilepsy medication with her to the station and, after having it checked by their medical officer, they’d promised to keep an eye on him and administer it as prescribed. She had no cause to think they wouldn’t, but, understandably, she was concerned. Janus was out of reach of everyone but Richard, locked up in a police cell. He must be so scared. Now, back in her apartment, it seemed horribly empty until Richard and Elijah arrived.
