The Blood Red Moon (The Phoenix Wolf)

Chapter 2

Moon Goddess POV

It was late and I just finished dinner when Cholena finally made it back home.

“Took you long enough” I smiled “How was your training/hunting?” I asked

“It was good till I ran into some rogues and saved a little boy” she responded all nonchalantly. I turned my head in shock at what she just said and asked her to explain what exactly happened. Cholena told me everything that had happened with how she was able to use her powers to save a little boy name Calian who looked to be around her age from these three rogues. I was so proud of her because she is coming into her own and soon, she will be the most powerful wolf ever but not without her true mate. Until she finds her true mate, she won’t be able to harness her true power until then.

“That’s great I’m so proud of you, now go upstairs shower and come eat dinner” she nods and ran upstairs got cleaned up and we ate together like always. And I want to enjoy every moment with cholena. For soon I will have to return to the moon and fulfill my role as moon goddess. I would’ve taken that role a lot sooner but I couldn’t leave Cholena my daughter until I know she could take care of herself so I told her once she turns 18, I will have to return to the moon. She was hurt at first but understood and ever since that conversation either I have been training her or she has been training herself. Seeing her grow will give a piece of mind knowing that she will be ok.

Cholena POV

8 years later

It’s been thirteen years since moon goddess found me as a pup and took me home and raised me as her own. Even though she is not my birth mom she will always be my mother. I just turned 18 years old and I’m not going to lie I hated when this day came. For I was saying goodbye to my mother the moon goddess. I know she will always be with me and guide me as she watches over me but that doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt any less. On the night of the full moon on my 18th birthday the bright light of the moon beamed down on her and before she disappeared back to the moon, she gave me her mark on my wrist to show everyone that I was protected by her and I would never smell like a rogue for I belonged in her pack, no wolf can make me submit to them not even the King of werewolves, and I can come and go anywhere to any pack as I please. The mark she gave me was a crescent moon with a white wolf head in the middle. I hugged her and said “I love you mother” “I love you too my daughter” she responded before completely vanishing. Three weeks went by after my mother returned to the moon it took a while for me to learn how to conceal my godlike arura that I was radiating but eventually I got the hang of it. The arura came from not only my own powers but also from the mark my mother gave me.

As I was in the sacred forest hunting for dinner tonight, I heard footsteps and twigs breaking I felt a presents.

“Do you hear that phoenix?” I asked my wolf. “Yes, someone is watching us, and it feels like there are at least four of them” she responded I got into my fighting stance when three dirty brown colored wolves came out with another wolf that was navy blue with a star shaped patch on his right eye. I didn’t know what their business was in my territory, and they didn’t feel threatening, but I wasn’t taking any chances, so I ordered them to shift.

“Shift” I commanded. They just looked at me with confusion and then just smirked at me. So, I unleashed a bit of my arura and commanded them again in my god tone “SHIFT!” and with some hesitation they had no choice but to do what I asked. Once they changed into their human form and I threw some clothes their way that I had stashed between some trees they looked at me with shock looks on their faces. The leader I was assuming came forth and asked, “How did you command us to shift when one you are not my alpha and two, I’m a high-ranking wolf?” he asked.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover and I am no rogue if that’s your next question?” I retorted with a smirk on my face.

“Now why are you in my territory?” I asked. He scoffed and I was losing my patients with the disrespect. “Lets just burn him alive for disrespecting us” Phoenix suggested. “As much as that sounds like a great idea because I am losing patients with these wolves in my territory, I can’t bear to sully the forest with their blood” I said to phoenix. She just retreated to the back of my mind. So, I stepped closer to this so-called leader and grabbed him by the throat with my protruding claws digging into his neck giving him a burning sensation running from my hand to his neck.

“OK! OK! I’ll talk! Just put me down!” he yelled and so I did he dropped after I threw him into the tree on my right side. Once he came to and was able to catch his breath, I was standing over him with my hands crossed. He looked up with a slight nervousness in his eyes. I crouched down to eye level with him and showed my blue eyes as a warning that I can let my wolf out at any time.

“Now I’m going to ask you one more time this time you better answer or I will send you back wherever pack you came from in pieces” I threatened. “Now who are you and why are you in my territory?”

“My name is Tekoda I’m the beta of the White Spirit Pack” he said. I took a step back for that pack name sound familiar.

“Do you know Calian by any chance?” I asked.

“How do you know my older brother?” he asked as he looks at me suspiciously.

“I saved his life 8 years ago from a team of rogues” he looked at with a oh s**t look.

“Wait you’re Cholena the red wolf my brother keeps talking about?”

“Well, I didn’t know he was talking about me but yes I am” I responded. As he finally came out his shock, he said that Calian sent them out here to look for me. I was surprised that one he remembered me and two he was looking for me. “How sweet” I thought to myself “you should go meet him and if it goes bad, I can just burn the village down” Phoenix chimed in. I laughed to myself

“Can we bring you to him?” the beta asked I looked at him for a second and said “ok, but any funny business and I will rain down the fire pits of hell on your pack, got it” I warned. He just nodded and they escorted me to their pack even though I didn’t their permission to access their territory, but I won’t let them know that.
