Chapter Eighteen

The wait seems too long for Shaina as she wait in vain for his kiss after more five minutes, she ope her a eye slightly and finally open the other eye when she see him still staring

"Isn't it a perfect time for a kiss? Or was she wrong?" Shaina thought embarrassed

He must have seen how badly she wants his kiss and even her embarrassed face now

Shaina quickly push him away and turn swiftly to the far end of the bed pulling the duvet over her body to take cover

"Can you leave? I want to take a rest" she told him and close her eyes waiting for him to leave the room.

She wait for another long minutes for the door sound but there cane none, upset at him, Shaina open her eyes to yell at him when she realize he's no longer in the room

Her gaze went to the door wondering how hard he must have crept so she won't hear him.

Maybe she shouldn't have ask him to leave but thinking about him taking her clothes off, seeing her body make her so red-faced.

Samael left the room and Nom appear beside him as he walks back, he have a different look of a man just like Samael do few hours back

"Her conscious has the memory of the Cold forest? How's that possible?"

"I will not call for you if I know" he snapped

"Right, I'm just a bit surprise and fascinated" Nom said with a nervous chuckle

But when he saw Samael isn't in the mood for it, he quickly cough out and look focus

"Can it be because of the blood seal? Is her heart not clear towards you?" He asked looking appalled

"No demon or mystic being can have any other man in their after the blood seal of commitment"

"Well that's right" Nom thought

"It's like some dark energy are buried in her and can only get her when her energy is weak"

"She's more special than I thought" Nom conclude with a thoughtful nod.

They both walk to the living room and stop in front of the invisible box while Samael open it and a blinding light shine out

"She was able to see and almost touch the box too... fascinating" Nom comment humorously

Samael ignore him and focus on what he's about to do, he blink his eyes once and the bright light gradually disappear replace with the image of the Cold forest.

They watch for a long while making sure everything is okay back in the forest and stop when they hear loud hiccups

Both men look up swiftly to see what sound it is and sees Shaina standing not too far from them holding her palm over her lips as she try to stop herself from hiccups

Samael instantly shut the box without moving his hands and the light and sound ceased but it seems too late

"Do you think she saw that?" Nom asked shocked

Shaina stare at them for moment and thought of making a run back to the room, her feet turn quickly to go back but Nom who didn't think much try to stop her

He glare at her with his eyeballs turning complete black trying to hold her down but she lost her foot instead and stagger on the stairs fighting not to fall

Samael immediately disappear into the air and reappears on the stairs, catching her before she could fall and took her into his hands safe.

Shaina panicked and close her eyes, it take sometime for her to open them back and realize she's not in danger anymore

Her gaze fell on Samael who is still holding her in his arms, Shaina look awe at his changed eyes color and the fact that he was able to get to her in that flash second

"Did...you..just..." She try to fathom her words but her tongue seem to be in shock too

"Please let me go" she slowly pleaded

Samael look at her reading her thought but it seems blank, he place her feet down carefully before releasing his hold on her

The first thing Shaina did was to give a long distance between them before finally asking her questions

"How did you do that?"

"And who is that?" She asked pointing at Nom

She stare curiously and suspiciously at him not sure who or what he is, all her senses in an alert state

"Should I erase her memories?"

"No!" Samael snapped telepathically

"She's freaking out"

"Get out of her head...and mine"

~

Shaina watch the two men in the room give each other looks that she can't interpret and her panicked state grow bigger, she wonder if they are saying or planning something against her

When his eyes left her for a second, Shaina Make a run to the room and slam the door shut, turning the lock after and inhale sharp

"Is that real?" She asked herself recollecting what just happened

That was the box that disappeared from the room, the bright light coming from it and the loud sounds she heard from it like an inmate object being alive

And then he disappeared and reappears in a second to where she was, something she might have witness before but always thinks it's some imagination of hers

Even thinking about it now it sounds and feels ridiculous, disappearing? What is he? Some superhero who saved the beauty? Shaina thought trying to wrap her head around it.

"Why can't I detect her presence? I can't even feel her energy"

Nom said amazed and close his eyes letting his nostril become more sensitive as he try to feel her presence

"I don't know but her energy is difficult to detect" he continue trying harder

Samael glare at him upset he tried to hurt her in the bid to stop her, he look away ignoring him and as he walk to the room

He wave his hand casually in the air and send him away continuing his walk to the room

Samael stop at the door and listen for ten seconds, he went through the door and appear in front of her

She freak out the instant she sees him and give a loud yell but Samael shut her up as he stretch his hands forward at her and she went silent

At first it was going good but few minutes later, Samael struggle within himself to stop the memory erase spell but can't

He fight to control her conscious but fails and quickly retreat looking alarmed and astound at what just happened

She also struggles to keep her eyes open, Samael quickly grip her as she make to slump and hold her in his hands

A maid open the door to spacious room, Dylan entered and took his seat opposite his grandmother and ask for a cup of tea

"Do you think you deserve a tea when you can't even keep a girl like Shaina?" Madame Odelia asked looking disappointed at him

Dylan ignore her for a moment and wait to take a sip of the tea before answering her

"You're the one who asked me to choose her sister instead, do you expect me to keep both women?"

"I'm already having a hard time keeping just one of them" he murmured but not silent enough for her not to hear

"It's unfortunate Dothad was blind enough to make useless one his heir"

"And unfortunate that I have to marry such devious woman"

"She's wily, that is one of her advantage"

"Of course, she's just the person you need" Dylan said satirically

"Shaina is the one I need" he said looking bitter and drink the whole cup content down.

Madame Odelia look at him without feeling any remorse, he's her heir and cannot be strong if he does not suffer pain such as this

"Why didn't you fight for her then? If you love her so much" she questioned

"Because I don't want her to live the kind of life I'm living now" he bluntly replied

"You know that's a lie....it is because you want RONDA and cannot let it go, not even for her"

"That is why you betrayed your love for her and will continue to do so because you chose your selfish desire over her"

Dylan stare the old lady in front of him and her words hits him hard like a piercing wounds

"I just have to marry Selena in order to have the Dothad's company?" He said to confirm it.

Madame Odelia nod her head and Dylan stand up with a long inhale then walk out of the room with his own thoughts in his head.
