*Marcelo’s POV*
The drive to the house Caputo has here, was short, but felt so fūcking long at the same time. Lala hadn’t said a word to me since we got in the car and Carlos motioned for me to leave it alone.
Lala pushed the door open and hopped out, without as much as a glance.
I fūcked up, didn’t I?
I followed her inside the estate. It was just as large and beautiful as the one back in Italy. Lots of trees that led to the estate and concrete stairs that led to the double doors. Just by seeing both homes, you can tell that Caputo was consistent. I won’t deny that he also had great taste. I’ll give the fūcker that.
Lala stomped her way up the stairs, making me sigh.
“Lala, please talk to me.” I said, jogging right behind her.
“For what? You don’t fūcking care how this stupid fight between you two makes me feel. What does it matter if I’m mad right now? You probably won’t care either!” She hissed as she turned again.
“Don’t say that, principessa.” I whispered as I grabbed her by her elbow, trying to get her to stop.
She pulled her arm away from me roughly, causing her to trip over the next step and hit her head against the corner of the top railing.
“f**k, Lala!” I shouted as I turned her over.
Her hand was covering her forehead as she squeezed her eyes shut.
“Let me see it, baby.” I whispered as I pulled at her hand.
“No.” She mumbled, opening her eyes. “Don’t you dare call Leo!” She shouted at one of their men that was at the bottom of the steps with his phone on his ear.
“But—” He was saying before she pushed me off, getting on her feet to glare at him.
“No, buts!” She told him before turning and stumbling.
I grabbed her quickly before she could hurt herself again. “Let me see it.” I told her again.
“No, I was a little dizzy, but I’m fine.” She said, forcing a smile.
“Lala, I’m not playing. Let me see it.” I told her as I held onto her waist tightly.
She rolled her eyes before moving her hand away from her forehead, making my eyes go wide.
“That is not okay!” I shouted at her before picking her up bridal style and running down the steps. “Find a nearby hospital. She is going to need stitches.” I told the guys as I jumped back in the car.
“I’m fine. It’s a little cut.” She said as she tried to wiggle away from my lap.
“For f**k’s sake would you stay still! Let me see it.” I told her as I pushed her head on my shoulder so I could see it up close.
She grumbled but stood still while I checked it. I ripped a piece of my shirt so I could press it against the opening.
“I’m so fūcking sorry. This is all my fault.” I whispered in her ear.
“No, it isn’t.” She replied. “You know I’m clumsy.” She laughed before wincing.
“I thought it didn’t hurt, liar.” I told her with a smile.
“Shut up.” She mumbled.
“There is a private hospital about three miles away.” Carlos said as he put the address on the gps.
“We are almost there, baby.” I whispered to her as she smiled weakly.
“It’s barely a cut.” She smiled as she snuggled closer.
“Mhm. We will see what the doctor says.” I told her before kissing her head.
The car came to a sudden stop just as the guys hopped off, opening my door.
It took me a minute to get out because I was still holding on to Lala and there was no way that I was letting her go.
“I can walk, you know.” She whispered as I repositioned her so that she wouldn’t fall.
“What’s the fun in that?” I smirked as I walked into the hospital.
*Leo’s POV*
“Let’s get this shīt over with.” I grumbled out loud as I opened the SUV door.
“Welcome Mr. Caputo. Senator Rossi has been expecting you.” The doorman said as I nodded.
Of course, he is expecting me. I set this fūcking meeting up.
The doorman motioned towards the inspection point, making me raise my brow at him.
“Um.” He cleared his throat as he loosened his tie.
A guard walked up to us and stopped in front of the doorman. “They are good.” He told him as the guy relaxed.
“Who would have thought that a Capo would be in the Salle des Séances?” Samuel snickered, making me roll my eyes.
“You know how easily these men are bought.” I whispered back to him. “Now, shut up. We need these types of connections.” I elbowed him.
“This way.” Another guard said, meeting us halfway before he led us down the hallway.
When we turned, Senator Rossi was standing towards the end, talking to someone. It seemed kind of heated but as soon as we reached them, he shooed the person away.
“Caputo. What a pleasure to have you with us. Follow me.” He said as he led me to the meeting room.
He turned to stop my guys, but I shook my head. “They go where I go.” I told him.
“Very well. I assume that you wouldn’t mind me having my own men join us then?” He asked with a raised brow.
“Do as you wish.” I said before taking a seat on the chairs towards the back.
He motioned for two guys to join us. Once they walked into the room, the door was closed as Rossi sat down across from me.
“What brings you all the way to France?” He asked with a poker face as he scratched his cheek.
“My wife.” I replied, waiting for his reaction.
