JAIRUS POV.
I was tired and worn out from my travels. Four days, I have been away from the demon realm for four days. I had no doubt that Erebus has already sent a host of demons after me.
My necklace glowed from time to time, reminding me of the deadly weapon I had in my possession. I have to look for a safe place to hide it. I have already promised Lord Armin that I would protect it. I would never let Erebus get his hands on it and destroy the world.
Somewhere in the woods, I got very tired and decided to rest. I know for sure that I am in some other creature's territory, but I used my dark powers to conceal my presence.
Because of the nature of a demon, it is very easy to detect them when they go into a territory where they are not wanted. It didn't help that all creatures in the world hated us.
Seated on the bare ground with my back against the tree trunk, I heard a sniffle like someone was crying. It seems to be coming from somewhere far away, but my extraordinary ears could pick up the sound clearly.
I stood up sharply, and with my speed, I ran to the direction where the sound was coming from.
In front of me was a lake, and there was a young woman seated in front of it with her head in her hands.
She was crying.
She smelt strongly like a werewolf, and the aura coming from her was bright and pure. It didn't take a genius to realize that she is a good person. But why is she here crying? Who has hurt her?
In my curiosity, I stepped closer to her, only for my boot to step on a dried twig drawing out a crunchy sound.
The woman was instantly on high alert. Her head snapped in my direction, and her bright green eyes fell on mine. She had a small face and cute button nose. She was also very beautiful, and I had to stop myself from leaving my mouth hanging open.
For a moment, we stared at each other unmoving. She sniffed the air as if searching for a scent, my scent. When she found none, she stood up sharply. Her eyes were wide in alarm.
"Who are you?" She asked through gritted teeth. Her tears and sadness were long gone to be replaced by fierce determination. She had already positioned herself in a fighting stance.
From her aura, I could tell that she wasn't really a weak wolf. Nothing compared to my strength though, but she was strong nevertheless.
Instead of replying to her questions, I asked curiously. "Why were you crying?"
For a slight moment, she seem embarrassed by my question, but her expression hardened again. "You don't smell like a werewolf, and you don't smell human either. I don't know what you are, but whoever you are, you are not supposed to be here!" Her brows furrowed in a dark frown, "who are you?"
There was something strange about this woman, something interesting actually. I could tell that she had a lot of things on her mind. I searched deep into her soul and realized what she wanted.
No, needed.
A child. This woman is desperate for a child. The reason for her tears and pain, was because she needed a child.
However, the sad truth was that, her womb was fruitless. She is barren, and it was impossible for her to have a child.
I looked up at her, and she was still glaring at me. She looked ready to pounce on me.
"I can give you what you want most in the world," I blurted, and a confused frown decorated her features.
"What do you mean by that?" She asked.
"A child," her eyes widen in absolute shock. For a moment, she lost her composure. "I can give you a child."
She opened and closed her mouth like a gaping fish unsure of what to say. "How did you know what I want? Who are you?!"
I smiled slightly, "a demon. Someone who can grant you your desperate wish. But I however have a condition." My expression was serious as I said, "protect the child, that is all I ask."
Without waiting for a reply from her, I pulled off my necklace and began the incantations. The body and soul of the weapon cane out of it like a blue flame of fire, swirling around my necklace.
My blood red eyes shone brightly as I directed the fire towards the woman's womb.
The woman watched in amazement as it danced towards her, and without warning, it disappeared into her stomach. She yelped and held her stomach in pain.
"f**k!" She exclaimed. She was already hunch over. "What the f**k did you do to me psycho!"
"You're pregnant."
"What?" She said in shock.
"Protect the child," I reminded her, "you must protect the child at all cost. When the time is right, I shall come for her." With that, I disappeared into thin air.
Now it would be difficult for Erebus to find her. He would find her eventually, but it would definitely take a lot of his time.
Until then, I must rest and recover my strength, so when the time comes for Erebus to attack, I will be prepared to protect the weapon, and fulfil my promise to Lord Armin.
