[How did we ended up here?] Abel thought to himself as he stands in the middle of the training area where the demonstration is going to be held. “I want you to shoot out a fire at the target like your like depends on it.” The instructor said as he points at the dummy. “Can I use anything? Or should I just throw it there?” Abel asked the instructor but the latter said its okay to do anything as long as he sets the target ablaze. “Then I will gladly comply.” Abel stretches his arms like he is holding a bow and an arrow and shot the target without looking at it.
BOOOM!
The target is obliterated without a trace as the instructor stares at it blankly with the other students. “Abel I think you don’t have to obliterate it and just set it ablaze!” Amon shouted at the clueless Abel who immediately apologizes for his fault. “Don’t bother, I will do it.” Amon said as he erected another dummy made of wood and Abel set it ablaze with his hardest but it still got incinerated immediately. [Eh? Where the hell did these kids come from?] the instructor think to himself as he sweats heavily while staring at the scene unfolding in front of their eyes. “What the hell is with these guys? How come they can control elements that easily?” one of the students muttered as Abel awaits for the instructor to make him leave the center. “Instructor, was that enough?” Abel who is also nervous of being in front of other kids for the first time but he is not showing it on his face.
“Yes, that’s okay- excessive to be exact.” He mutters to himself as he looks around and asked. “Who wants to volunteer for the next demonstration?” none of the students raised their hand after seeing Abel’s ability. “There is no way that I will stand there, I will just humiliate myself after seeing that guy’s ability.” One of the students said as the others just agreed then all of the sudden, a student raised her hand. “Let me give it a try instructor. I want to see if I can fair off with that guy’s ability.” A student with a blue hair said as she walks in front of the crowd.
“Miss Faust- okay then. Please fire element just like Mr. Abel did earlier.” The instructor said with conflicting expressions.
KABOOM!
The sound of the explosion covers the entire room as it shook. Everyone in were stunned after seeing something like that before them but they were somehow safe even after that strong explosion. “Looks like going for the lower class really is a great choice after all.” Amon said with a smile on his face as Riri Faust stares at them like she is challenging him to show what he got. “Looks like I overdid it.” She mutters with a cold expression.
With the training area in shambles, the demonstration is postponed until the area is fixed which greatly shocked Abel and Amon and asked the instructor silently. “Instructor, doesn’t the academy have an artifact that would immediately fix itself when it is damaged?” Amon asked as the instructor shook his head. “AH- you mean that. There are other training grounds besides this but seeing that this is the lowest class, the principal or the headmaster did not see it breaking. Not until now.” The instructor said as they enter the room. “Hmmm? Isn’t that discrimination? Everyone should be equal in this academy and yet even the facilities are bad just because we belong to the lower class.” Amon said which Abel then agrees but the instructor defended the decision of having artifacts in low classes.
“That is not what was initially planned but the academy had to cut cost. They are going to fix it anyway so there is no need to worry about that at all.”
Meanwhile
“Huh? The training ground is in shambles and needs to be repaired right away?” the headmaster exclaimed after hearing the report. “Yes, apparently one of Peter Faust’s daughter had a hard time adjusting her strength and blew up the dummy along with almost a quarter of the training ground but fortunately enough, nobody is harmed even after such explosion.” A man with glasses reported as the headmaster nods his head. “Well, I guess it is understandable. Peter Faust’s magic is famous for explosiveness after all.” The headmaster muttered to himself as he gives out an order to fix the training area of the low class immediately. “But explosiveness is the sign that a person’s magic is unrefined. Real strong magic stands in the borders of calm and stormy magic.” the headmaster mutters to himself after the man left the room.
[But why am I feeling that Abel’s magic is stronger than Miss Faust? I may be an instructor but I am yet to grasp the principle of strong magic but the calmness earlier felt a little more terrifying than Miss Faust’s explosion. Just who are these kids? Amon is able to erect a new training dummy with ease earlier like he is just making them out of nothing.] instructor Normal thought as the two reads the books that were distributed and for the instructor, the two of them seemed to be dissatisfied of what was written in the book.
[Young master, what is with all these rubbish? There is nothing to learn at all.] Abel talk to Amon through their thoughts as the other one agreed. [Yeah- I have been skimming through the entire book but there is nothing much noticeable at all. I can’t believe people here are learning nothing but this.] Abel sigh in disappointment as he closes the book. Amon raised his hand and ask the instructor if he can go to the library instead. “I guess you know more than what is written in the book huh?” the instructor whispered to himself as he lets out a sigh.
[There are still time before the training area’s repair is finished. I guess it is fine.] “Okay- you can go but be back after thirty minutes, the repairs would have ended by then.” Instructor Norman said as the two immediately thanks the instructor for his kindness and left for the library. Some of the students murmur after seeing the two left and some stated their disapproval of what the instructor had done. “I can’t blame the two. There really is nothing to learn from this book and if I were them I would do the same. If you have any complaints of what the instructor decided then you can go and take on that guy that obliterated the target earlier without even trying and it looks to me that he was struggling to control his strength earlier, he must not be used in using fire for his magic.” Riri Faust said to the others who opposed the instructor.
One of them agreed to what Riri said and was there when Abel attacked one of the students in the auditorium. “No one saw and felt his magical arrow grazed a senior student, not until the desk beside him got trashed.” The other students felt shivers down their spine as the student tells them what she saw. “Hmmmm, so he’s a marksman huh? No wonder he ask me if he can use anything earlier, and his stance, a stance that only a marksman makes.” Norman said as he realizes the actual strength that Abel can produce. [Calm and silent. He is a strong one despite his age so why the hell are they in this class?]
Riri excused herself and ask if she can go to the library to read as well, some of the students then followed her after Norman’s permission. “Just don’t forget to come back here.” He reminded as they left the room. “Now what are we going to do to erase this boredom. Why don’t we do a little discussion then.” The other students left inside the room had not choice but to engage in the discussion that Norman started.
[That strength, where did that guy get that kind of strength? I trained my whole life but I’m still not good enough in father’s eyes. Why are we so different?] she thought to herself as she treads towards the library but forgot which way to go. “Ah-“ she buried her face under her palms and looks for any map of the academy and soon found one. “Ah so there it is.”
After a few minutes, she arrived at the library and was surprised to see Abel and Amon arguing with the guards that are guarding the entrance to the library. “We just had asked permission to instructor Norman and he told us that its fine.” Amon argued as Abel stops him. “There is no need to argue with the likes of them young master. There is nothing we need to learn anymore anyway.” Amon expressed his disbelief in clicking his tongue. “If this is all the academy can offer than I might as well spend my entire time dueling everyone I meet.” The two then headed back and met Riri who was watching them.
Riri told them that she can help them enter the library but before she can fully state it. “No need.” Amon said with an angry tone as they pass her by. Hesitant to enter the library alone, she follows behind the two.
KAHCAK!
“Back so soon. Was there anything that interest the both of you?” Norman ask the two who is not in the mood to answer any questions but even so, Amon responded. “The guards did not let us enter no matter what we said. So I guess low class are treated differently after all.” Norman could sense the anger behind his voice but decided to contain it and got surprised of what happened. “That’s strange, they would normally let people in. Maybe there is a group of people that occupied the library at the moment.”
The doors of the library opened and prince Japeth and princess Joanna stepped out of the library and immediately felt Amon and Abel’s presence. “What was the noise here earlier?” one of the nobles said as the guards told him that there was two people that wanted to get inside but knowing the their highnesses are still inside they prohibited everyone else from entering. “That’s great, at least you know how to act in the presence of their highnesses. Common people should not just enter where the nobles are.” The noble’s remark angered Japeth greatly. “What are you saying? I thought everyone here in the academy is equal so why are you not letting anyone enter the library?” the guard and the noble is speechless after prince Japeth’s remark. “Where did the two headed?” this time princess Joanna ask since her brother is not in a ask questions and the guards pointed at the direction.
“As expected of princess Joanna, you are looking for them to give them a warning not to disturb others right?” one of the male nobles said as he follows princess Joanna but then gets shut down immediately. “Don’t misunderstood. I am greatly disgusted by what you said earlier. This is the reason why I hate people tailing me all the time. They tend to get the wrong idea and put on airs on how great nobilities are but in reality they are just wealthy with no strength to back it up.” The look of disgust on princess Joanna towards the noble froze him in place as prince Japeth follows behind her.
Having difficulty finding the two, the prince and princess ask Ms. Brit of the room which they are put into and head there immediately but to their disappointment. Mr. Norman had already dismissed his class and found it empty with no other clue as to where the two would go. They set it aside for tomorrow when they are sure to be in the room.
