Remains of humanity have found in you no trace
This is the beginning of a rotten race
Frustration, hopelessness, eradication
Die at my f*****g hand, you f*****g disgrace
Ages Of Atrophy
Not being able to find Jake, I begin convincing myself that he's back at the cabin already and I'm on a wild goose chase. So giving into my internal pleas for going back, I start my journey home before hearing familiar yet faint voices coming from somewhere to my far left.
Heading to where I think the voices are, I start to register who they are straight away as Jake's parents and him, my heart stopping when I hear what they have to say.
"I need to come home; I don't think Emily and I are working out." Jake confesses in a hushed voice while they all look around to see if they are being listened in to. I thank the trees covering my form considering I now get to know the truth of what Jake is really like, and how much of a coward he is for not being straight with me.
"Alright honey we will get you home tonight if you want, how are you going to get your things out without notifying them?" the Mum whispers as they start making their way towards the cabins, my hear racing when I slowly make my way behind them, only to freeze with the feeling of hands around my shoulders.
"You shouldn't be here." the voice snarls with the last thing I hear being the screams of Jake and his parents before I'm out cold.

I startle awake to my parents calling for me though Lucy sounds the closest. So waking up my voice I manage to shout back, my head pounding before the incidents of last night come rolling in.
With the sound of running footsteps, I look up to the dawning sky and close my eyes as a round of snow begins to fall.
Finally in the warm embraces of Mum, Cam, then Lucy, they are all demand what the f**k happened, yet when I'm about to answer I'm bombarded with more questions and I'm back to closing my mouth again.
"Look, Jake and I had a fight so we went separate ways which Lucy can vouch for. Later on after I cooled down, I thought he might have gone back to the cabin. I actually caught him and his parents talking about wanting to leave and break up with me, then that's the last I remember because I think someone knocked me out. Though I'm not sure I am still a little fuzzy on that part." I explain with tears threatening to break loose, but not for him, more for myself because I feel f*****g stupid for thinking he actually cared for me.
"Do you remember anything else, like the person who might have done it? Was it Jake?" Cam insists as he gets up with the look of the devil in his face, his brain firing up and searching for where he thinks Jake might be.
"That's all I remember, as far as I'm concerned he might have gone back with his parents after I was attacked, I don't know but I know it wasn't him considering he wasn't near me when it happened." I explain in a level yet shaky tone, my eyes closing while I try and remember more, though I'm met with darkness.
"Well I'm just glad you're okay; let's get you back inside before you freeze to death. That and let's have a look at that wound on your head before it's too late." Mum orders when Cam helps me up as well as Lucy who's composed herself knowing I'm now okay.
"I knew you should have broken up with him." she mumbles with a sad smile when we make it back to the cabin, me returning the small smile and nodding my head.
"I know, but I guess I just needed time to word it and compose myself knowing he loves someone else. My words will mean nothing to him." I confess while running a hand through my hair.
Grabbing my hand she sits me down on a chair, her not letting go until Mum and Cam come back in to help suss out my head.
"The cut isn't wide or deep enough to stitch but there was a lot of blood. It will sting when you have a shower but it will heal up soon enough. I would also avoid shampooing and stuff as gross as that sound, just so it doesn't cause you pain." Mum adds and starts to clean up the mess of my bloody cotton tips and whatnot.
Being also cautioned to move slowly and that they will call it short on the holiday, I only refuse and tell them I'll be fine considering a bump to my head isn't going to ruin my vacation regardless if Jake did leave with his parents.
Checking for my phone I begin to freak out while I pat down the clothes I changed out of when I got home and find that it has been stolen, rage as well as sadness setting in when I continue rummaging through more of my things until gaining Lucy's attention.
"What the f**k is going on?" she demands, my blurry eyes looking up at her and watching when her anger turns to worry.
"I've lost my phone, it isn't with my clothes and I'm starting to think it was stolen." I sniff, Lucy automatically getting into work mode then suggests ringing my phone.
Doing so we wait on bated breath as is rings yet it goes straight to message bank, meaning that it is still on and the person hasn't turned the phone off yet.
"Okay so we know someone has it, we just need to turn on that find my iPhone or whatever and see if we can track it down." she adds when I begin getting my things ready before heading out to let Mum and Cam know what's happening.
With that we turn on her hotspot to make sure the connection is kept in finding this phone, eventually being located to its area after what feels like an hour of running.
Being ordered by Cam to hang back in case it might be a trap, Lucy and I stay behind with Mum and wait on bated breath for something to send us either running away or towards to help him.
Moments feel like years until we're put out of our misery, Cam strolling out with the phone and my heart automatically fills with relief when I'm reunited with it, only it is short lived due to everything on it being half-wiped.
Tears are now falling down my face for the loss of things that were on my phone, I tell myself there'll be other things on there worth more than the ones I have lost, yet I can't shake the feeling that it will still hurt.

Arriving back at the cabin both Lucy and I now share, we have a small family dinner together in Mum and Cam's cabin before bringing up old stories of past holidays and funny times, then all check the time with shock at how fast the time has flown by.
"Alright, we all better head off to bed or we'll end up sleeping in through our holiday instead." Mum declares as the time almost reaches one in the morning, my mind slowly retreating back to the thoughts of my phone and how I will have to get over it sooner rather than later.
So giving both of my parents a kiss and hug goodnight, both Lucy and I head to our cabin to find the both of us ending up in the bed both Jake and I were in. That was prior to him wanting to leave without even a text goodbye.
"I'm glad you're here considering I need help going through my phone." I half-smile when we're both comfortable and phones in hand.
"No problem, where do you want to start first?"
"The contacts."
"Okay, well you still have mine, Mum's, Cam's, well there's some good news."
"What?"
"Jake's number isn't in there."
Rolling my eyes while she's cracking up laughing, I tell her to go on, her rounding off the names of relatives before finding that no one else other than Jake, a few other guy names I forgot they existed until now, had been deleted as well as the messages I have ever received from all the numbers.
So only annoyed that all of my messages had been deleted, I go through my photos and find that only the random ones I had saved are there, yet the ones of Jake and I have also been deleted.
"You okay with the fact that there are only photos of you as well as family and the ones worth keeping on there?" she questions gently when I go through every folder and come out empty with ones on Jake and I.
"Well I guess so considering that seems like a Jake move to do that, but I know for a fact that it wasn't Jake that I guess attacked me." I mumble in confusion as I try and think of other explanations as to what the f**k had happened to me, the night I caught Jake trying to leave with his parents.
"Look don't stress about it, as long as you got your phone back that is all that should matter right now." she soothes while I'm beginning to get frustrated as to why Jake now won't answer my messages. I mean they may have deleted Jake's number but I still remember it because I was calling him more than I had to, just to get a hold of him.
"I'm just annoyed why Jake would leave me like the way he did, I mean he didn't even come back for me when I was attacked. Like he would have heard the person hitting me-"
"Hey, stop going into it because the more you think about it the more it will f**k you up. Mum and Cam didn't want me telling you but Cam has called a few of his mates up to try and track down the cunt that attacked you. That and find out where Jake is to give him a talking to. Mum though isn't too happy about it due to it will apparently end badly for them, only like me, we don't have a say considering one of us has been hurt." she cuts across me, the feeling of her eyes now on me yet all I see is darkness now.
"You're right, let's go to sleep. I still want to have fun on this vacation you know." she only laughs before giving me a tight hug.
"Don't worry about it; my fun is still happening even though I thought you were gone when you didn't come home last night." she confesses in a small voice, my hand finding hers in the dark to give it a reassuring squeeze.
"Well I'm here now, so don't stress on me ever leaving again." I assure her, my smile probably lost in the darkness of the room, still I don't drop it.
