I woke up feeling refreshed after a good night's sleep due to foster Dad had to work overnights for the next 2 weeks "thank God". I sat up to see Sam was still sleeping so I got out of bed and hopped into the shower. Sam.... Wake up tag your it shower's your's. Sam growled at me not wanting to get out of bed cause it's Saturday the day before our birthday. Our birthday's are the same day cause when the hiker found us with no parents or anything on the edge of the Black water river no one knew when our birthday was so when Sam and I were 6 we decided the day they found us and my big brother would be our birthday. They thought my brother was 2 or 3 years old and Sam and I around a year old when they found us. They assumed Sam and I were twins until blood work showed we were possibly cousins. After two years in a foster home they decided to split me and my brother up and he got moved to a new home and Sam and I got moved 2 hours North of Black water. I wish I knew more about my brother. All I know is his name is Eric and he is about a year older then I am. Sam hurry up we have exactly two hours before Asshat gets home and we need to get a car before tomorrow. ( Asshat = Foster Dad) Sam comes out of the bathroom with her long dark brown hair in a twisted messy bun and her faded cut off Jean shorts and a blue tank top with her black army boots and says let's go antsy pants. I jump down from the top of the stairs to land in the hallway to the kitchen to see Foster mom sitting at the table doing her nails watching reruns of murry. She looks up and says how do they look? I squinch up my nose from the smell of nail polish and give her one of my famous fake looks good smiles. She then tells us she won't be home tonight she has to escort some friends to Kansas City for a night out on the town to make money for rent. (Aka whoring around) We both say at the same time no worries we got roman noodles. I then ask her if she was done with the newspaper. She hands it over and Sam and I go out the back door to the trail to our fort. Looking through the ads I found a 1967 Chevy Nova that still runs according to the ad. Hey let's go check this one out I say to Sam. She looks at me like really an old beater. It's in our price range and still runs. Quit being negative Nancy I holler back at her. It's only two streets over let's go. We walk up to the house and knocked on the door, a little girl with blonde hair opened the door and said hello. I said Hello, is your mommy or daddy home sweetheart? She smiles up at us and says yes hang on please. She shuts the door to go get her parent. A big guy with oiled stained jeans and a wife beater equally stained comes to the door. Hi, my name is Bre and I seen your ad in the paper for the Chevy Nova. Do you mind if we look at it. My daddy had one when we were growing up and I want to surprise him with another one. Ok yeah, my name is Brad let's go around back to my garage so you can check it out. Awesome thank you. He opened the garage door and there she was a beautiful lil fixer upper 1967 Chevy Nova bulldog blue with chrome wheels. Can we start it up Brad? I asked while Sam looks like she may cry at any moment. It started on the first try. It says in the ad you only want $300 for it is that correct? I ask Brad and he responded Yes, my wife just wants it out of here. It need a few things to make her purr but I dove it back and forth to the shop for the last 3 years with no problems. Ok we will take it Brad it looks just like the one in the photo on the mantle. Ok let me go get the title and second set of keys. After he walked away we both were jumping up and down squealing like a couple schoolgirls. We drove it to our fort. We were ready to go just had to wait til our Foster parents left for "work".
