"You look stunning dear" her stepfather complimented and her mother sighed, while Jayden simply stared on at her with a little smile and narrowed eyes. Chloe offered a small smile in return for the compliment, not totally comfortable underr their stares. Especially from Jayden and the way he smirked too "we should go .....right?" She offered,Sarah sighed and shook her head as she led the way with her husband. Chloe walked out next leaving Jayden behind who had now turned to stare at her departing figure.

She could feel him his burning stare on her body "Take a picture will you?" She said without turning back and Jayden chuckled and shook his head. The journey to the dinner place was quite a long boring one for Chloe as she was trapped in the car with the two lovers in the front seat cooing like two birds. She looked from her mom to her stepfather and sighed, looking back to the screen of her phone at the unread messages, she typed another message. "Call me when you see this" she sighed when he replied at last "Gotta get busy, I'll call you later. Love you"

Blurring out the couple's conversation, she looked out the window at the dark sky and then she saw a silver sleek car move forward, and there sat Jayden with his annoying smirk on his pretty face. Chloe though of this as he stared at her, she smiled back stiffly and watched him flick off the cigarette he was smoking out the window. And sped up after, Chloe sighed and shook her head "such a baby" .

They got to the dining place which had a club on the ground floor, Two bouncers were at the entrance. Chloe noticed that people had to show their membership card before going in but the Bartels were allowed in without one. As they walked in to meet Jayden who was already there, he was giving out his number to two friends. Chloe saw the way her mother was mingling with people and could only assume it was not her first time here.

"Chloe your membership card will arrive next week, so you can come here without any hinderance. Meanwhile you can use my surname" John said to his step daughter. "Won't that be confusing though?" She asked a bit amused "Why would it be?" He asked back and Chloe looked around and hummed when she saw one of the workers coming forward "Welcome Mr Bartels" he greeted and before John could reply, Chloe butt in "Hello I'm Mrs. Bartels,Chloe Bartels" she said as she held her stepfather's hand who was looking at her strangely.

The man was surprised but his it fast "congratulations sir, I did hear of the news" he said cheerfully "No Matt no ..I'm not that kind of guy...." He said moving away from Chloe's hold, he saw Sarah coming "This is Mrs Bartels" he introsived her with one hand on her waist "That was silly of me, I'm so sorry sir" the man addressed as Matt apologized and John nodded "it's not your fault " he replied and walked away with Sarah without giving Chli another glance. Chloe giggled like a kid until she saw the strange stare from Jayden, she cleared her throat and stare back at him .

He gestured for her to move before him "Little kids first" he taunted and Chloe gestured for him to go first. Just when he was about to move, she pushed him on the chest and walked in front. Jayden let out an amused laughter and followed her in, as they sat in the booth that was reserved for the Bartels only, silence reigned eerily as everyone followed each other's movement as they ate and roamed their eyes around awkwardly. Sarah sighed "Autumn has always been my favorite season but with this city, the sunset and you...."

She said as she held her husband's hand they smiled to each other, Jayden picked up the topic and spoke on the geographical setting of the beautiful city. "Thanks to our lobbying, we can all enjoy this wondorous city" John chipped in as he wiped his mouth with the kerchief. Chloe stopped eating and looked from father to son "I can't disagree to that but what happens when people just don't want to be civil, like throwing cigarettes butt out the window....don't the police arrest you for that?"

Jayden raised his brow and smirked "For doing that?..... impossible" he said full of confidence. "That's right, Jayden doesn't smoke......he's an athlete" John boasted and Sarah chipped in excitedly "Yeah Surfing champion right?" John nodded Chloe shrugged at the display. "Surfing...hmm I see" Jayden cut into his steak "is there a problem?" He asked. Chloe shrugged "Well.....I just prefer strategic sports" she faced Jayden with a mischievous smile "One that does require using your brain." Not wanting to give in to her taunting Jayden swallowed and drank a bit of wine "If you'll excuse me, I have to get to work now" he said and this time John gave his permission "At Zion's?" Sarah asked

Jayden cleaned his mouth "Yes, although it's still all just paperwork". "Oh I'm sure you'll be getting your first case pretty soon.......he studies law and gets good grades" Sarah directed the last sentence to Chloe. "Aww what a good daddy's boy..... I'm sure he doesn't really need to work hard as Bartels subsidiaries will be there for you to milk." Everywhere grew silent again as they gave Chloe a strange stare, feeling abit uncomfortable "What it's actually the truth no matter how unpleasant that sounds, right Jayden?" She said with an annoying grin."Stop it Chloe"

"No it's fine, I had a very interesting evening thanks to her.....and uhn I'm officially late" he said as he looked at his wrist watch and stood up intentionally dropping a napkin, he bent down to pick it up and whispered into her ear "see you later.....little sister" and then turned to leave, Chloe wrinkled her brow "I'm leaving too" she announced
