CHAPTER1
THEIA
“The Alpha commands that you follow us immediately.”
I stood in front of the door, my heart dropping to my knees as the Alpha’s messenger and two of his warriors stood in front of me.
“Why? I didn’t do anything,” I muttered, more to myself than to them.
Without answering my question or giving me hints, they turned around and went on their way to the Alpha’s house with expectations for me to follow.
I followed behind them without a word, my mind racing in different directions as to what I could have done wrong. Alpha Draven was not one to summon people unless it was something as important as them doing something he believed they deserved punishment for.
We got to the Alpha’s house, and I was led into his official meeting room by the messenger.
The messenger opened the door, nudging me. I walked into the room to find about six other girls my age sitting around the table in the middle of the room with Alpha Draven at the head of the table.
“You finally decided to join us. Sit.” He gestured at the only vacant chair beside him, and I sat as fast as I could because of my knowledge of how he reacted to people who he perceived as too slow.
“Now, as I was saying, you will all be transferred to your quarters, where you will be trained on how to behave and act accordingly, depending on the mood of…” he paused when I raised up my right hand, my gaze glued to the table as I felt everyone else’s gaze on me.
“What is it, Omega?” I felt a pang of shame go through me as he called me by my rank.
“I don’t understand. What quarters are we moving into? What are we—”
“What is your name again?” He interrogated.
“Theia,” I answered.
“Ah, yes. Theia. All seven of you sitting in this room are the new generation of pack servers.
My body froze instantly as I turned around to see him looking at me.
Pack servers were the ladies who entertained the guests – especially the Alphas and higher-ups – whenever Alpha Draven hosts a party; which was practically every week.
“You will serve my guests whenever and however they want until the party is over, and you will return to the servers’ quarters when you’re done—”
“I can’t.”
The soft voice interrupted Alpha Draven, and we all turned to the lady at the other end of the table who had just said the words.
“Excuse me?” Alpha Draven raised his brows.
“I can’t be a pack server, I’m sorry. I can’t give favors to Alphas of other packs. I haven’t even found my mate—”
She gasped and got off her seat when Alpha Draven stood up and walked towards her.
“You know, I fully understand if you want to keep yourself and this whole purity act for your mate. It’s fine by me,” Alpha Draven said, stalking towards her like a predator slowly making his way towards his prey.
She gasped, and I could see the tension seeping into her bones, when he touched her on the shoulder and leaned close to her.
“But, the sad thing is that I’m your Alpha, and I do not take no for an answer.”
Before anyone of us could blink, he grabbed her by the head and twisted her neck so fast and hard that her neck ended up at an awkward angle. I heard screams and gasps of shock, but I just sat there, frozen and taken aback.
“I guess she won’t be finding that mate. Wasn’t really worth it, now, was it?” He chuckled darkly, now sitting on the girl’s chair as her body lay right beside the chair on the floor.
“Now, who else has one excuse or the other? If you’re lucky enough to have a good enough excuse, I might just let you go.”
The room fell into silence, everyone still as the fear for being killed if we made the wrong moves gripped each and every one.
I was an Omega, and both of my parents were dead. There was nobody who could possibly plead my case and persuade Alpha Draven to let me go. As I looked around, I realized that the girls around me were in similar cases as I was in.
“Good. You will now be taken to your quarters. I have a party to throw tonight over my victory against the pack of Silverclaw in the war.” He stood up and opened the door, where a group of older women were standing in wait for us.
~~~
It was now drilled in my head; all the rules and regulations of being a server. We had spent most of the day being taught how to serve wine, how to keep the guests entertained without annoying them. They told us that if told to massage the guests, we should do it without batting an eyelash, but full s****l services were not allowed.
Not that it made the situation any better.
The doors opened, leading us to the party. As I walked in, I pulled down the hem of my dress as it was too short.
“Here come the servers!” One of the guests cheered loudly, and everyone else joined in on the cheers.
I was pulled here and there, asked series of questions ranging from my name to my age to what services I provided, with my answers being the same monotonous things; Theia, twenty-one, I’m just here to serve you your drinks and answer your questions.”
I stood up and walked off to get a wine refill for Alpha Corey of Moonshine Pack, who was drunk beyond belief and still wanted some more.
When I got back to him, he pulled me by the hem of my dress, causing me to spill the drink and lose my balance as I landed on top of his laps.
“W-What are you doing?” I put the glass away and struggled to get out of his grip. For someone who was too drunk to say one word without slurring, he had a strong grip.
“Come on!” He groaned aloud. “What other services do you provide? I’m sure Draven doesn’t care what you do.”
“I can’t give you what you want. Please, let me go—”
“Just turn around. Everyone’s too busy to notice.”
I yelped as his hands roughly tugged at the zip of my dress and dragged it down, the cold air of the night hitting my back.
“No, stop!” I protested.
As I struggled to get out of his grip, I felt someone pull me off of his lap and onto the couch so that I could sit down.
The man who had managed to release me from Alpha Corey’s grip was now punching Alpha Corey in the face, over and over. He kept going without stopping, giving me enough time to pull my zip back up.
When the mystery man was done beating Alpha Corey up, he turned around. The moment our eyes met, my breath was knocked out of my lungs as I felt something tightening in my chest – a mate bond.
I had found my mate.
Just when I opened my mouth in an attempt to say something – anything at all – the door opened roughly, as if the person who had kicked it open intended for it to come off its hinges.
Alpha Loran of Silverclaw Pack, stood in front of the door, his shifted soldiers behind him and growling, waiting to attack.
I turned my head in Alpha Draven’s direction, confused. He had said that this party was for the celebration of his victory against Alpha Loran, so why was Alpha Loran here with his soldiers?
Alpha Loran walked in and scanned the room, which had now fallen silent, and then he said two words to his soldiers before all hell broke lose.
“Kill them.”
