“Liv you need to leave the city and better even the country my darling because you are in danger. Liv what we have been dreading so much is about to happen so please listen to me. I know perfectly well that you are taking this lightly but it is serious and if you don't do it now, I fear the worst will happen and now you are alone. There is no one with you.” She doesn't want to believe him because it's the same story every time and if he really wants her to listen to him, he has to tell her what she's risking and who this person is who is going to hurt her. “Liv stop acting like you don’t listen to me. I don’t want anything to happen to you.” “What could possibly happen to me while you protect me? Grandpa, I'm willing to do what you ask, but first I want to know what's going on. What am I risking?” “He found you.” " Pardon ?" “I’m talking about that man who saved your life, Liv. this man has been stalking you for a while and he found you so you have to leave the country, change your hair color and even change your identity because he won't be kind to you. For once you have to take me seriously.” “Take you seriously? I couldn't even trust you because I don't understand who I am or my life. If you tell me what you have hidden from me until now, I think I could listen to you for once and besides, you are no longer here and my death would not hurt anyone." “Don’t talk nonsense, will you? You are the last of our line and…” “And I have to stay alive to perpetuate it, right? A man would first have to be brave to approach me because I’m scaring myself with my unanswered questions about my life.” She turns and starts to leave when her grandfather catches up with her and kneels in front of her. She can't believe he did that..she helps her get up but that doesn’t mean she’s going to give in. “You have to leave when you wake up.” “Who is this man and why does he scare you so much? For what ?" “This is King Lycan, the alpha of the Savior Moon pack.” “You mean a werewolf?” Liv asks her grandfather. The latter nods and without meaning to, Liv laughs. She doesn't want him to think she's making fun of him but that doesn't make sense to her. “Liv, go away my darling, this is my only wish that I would like you to honor, the only one.” “No, because…” The sound of the alarm disturbs her and she jumps in her bed before realizing that she has just had yet another nightmare. This is the very first time she has had such a long conversation with her grandfather since he visited her in her dreams. She realizes that it is time for her to get ready to go to work. She runs into the shower after choosing her clothes and after an hour of time, she is finally ready to start the day. “Did you sleep well, Liv?” Aurora asks him. “You never believe me Aurora. I would like to share something with you that can brighten your day my dear friend. Last night, I learned that even after death, you can still lose your mind.” " How ?" “My grandfather lost his mind. I mean he went crazy, completely.” “Isn’t it you who is going crazy because of your many nightmares? Liv, it’s time for you to meet a psychologist.” She narrows her eyes, not understanding. She thought what she just said would make her friend laugh, but when you think about it, there's nothing funny about it. Everything suggests that it is she who is losing her mind. Does this observation make her burst into tears? She cries tears because she no longer understands anything. His life no longer has meaning. “But Liv, I’m sorry for what I said. I didn't want to make you cry." “You are absolutely right, Aurora. I'm the one losing my mind. I would simply like to forget everything, forget my life.” She nods to convince herself that this is what she needs to get better because there is nothing else other than that. “What did he say to you, Liv?” “That I should leave the city and better yet the country, that I should dye my hair and change my identity because I am in danger because the Lycan King found me.” “And you don’t think that might be the best thing to do? I will always be there for you.” “No, but you don’t understand. All that doesn't exist. I'm not going to run away because a ghost asks me to and yes, I'll see a spy as soon as possible." She says goodbye to her friend and leaves. She doesn't understand why Aurora believes what her grandfather's ghost says and not her. She is happy to go to work because at least with that, she will forget absolutely everything. When she arrives at the company, she feels better because the good humor of the people around her warms her heart. She goes to her office to put her bag down and looks closely, she doesn't see a file and yet there are always some every time she arrives. It seems strange but she doesn't want to dramatize things without having seen her boss. So she goes to his office and once in front of the door, she knocks and enters when he gives permission. " Hello Sir. What am I going to work on today?" She enthusiastically awaits his response when it does not come. He has his nose buried in his paperwork and hasn't even looked up once. “Sir, what am I going to do today?” she asks again. “You’re not going to do anything, Liv.” “What do you mean I won’t do anything? If I don't do anything then who will? I don’t know if it’s a joke but it’s in very bad taste.” She sees him get up and walk towards her he seems very serious and she doesn't understand him. This man has never been like this. “You are fired Liv and from this moment on you no longer work for me.” She looks at him for a few seconds and starts to smile when she turns around. She knows he doesn't care about her because he could never do something like that to her. “It’s not my birthday today, you know.” “Of course I know it’s not your birthday, Liv. Look, it hurts me to do this but you can't work for me anymore. You must leave now.” “No but wait, so you’re serious? What have I done to you? I'm not as competent anymore? No but…” She is in so much pain that she doesn't even know what to think about it anymore. He can't fire her just like that, otherwise he would have been better off emailing her about it. “And what’s the motive?” she asks beside herself. “How’s that going to help you since you’re going to leave? Things can’t get better.” " Oh yes ? You are all the same. I mean all of them. My father who didn't even have the courage to live for me. My grandfather who was so ashamed of me that he gave me up for adoption while he was alive and now you. You've been feeding me illusions all this time. You know what? f**k you but know one thing; I will never run out of work? Never." “Liv you need to watch yourself. I’m telling you this seriously,” he said in a pleading voice. These words really amuse him. Why should she be careful? She is not risking anything and she is convinced of it.
