GOD DAMNIT!!! That pompous son of a b***h. If he thinks that he is going to sweep in here and take my mate. My wolf growled in agreeance. I will slit his throat before he touches her! Calm down…calm down. My hands are shaking. I walked slightly in front of her all the way to the beach in silence. It stung to think that she might be pulled away into the arms of the Council. She is mine. I will not let them have her. But she is not ready for the truth.
“Did I do something wrong? I am really sorry if…” She broke the silence but her voice was full of sadness that made me cringe when she spoke. She thinks I am mad with her?
“I didn’t like the way he kept looking at you.” Her eyes lit up.
“He was looking at me?” She smiled a little. My wolf growled. How dare his mate smile at someone else. I felt him reach out to her. “I didn’t even notice.” She giggles and bounced in the sand.
“Yeah, well I did.”
“Relax.” She looked up at me with those big eyes of hers. I saw the first glimpse of her wolf peak through her eyes shifting to bright purple, and back to her beautiful emerald green. I smiled. “He is really not my type. I mean don’t get me wrong. He is adorable. But I don’t know…I get this old familiar feeling when I am next to him.”She rubbed against my arm, and my wolf purred. Mate. My heart swelled in my chest. Wait…type?
“Want to sit and talk a while, before dinner? Maybe catch a movie?”
“Sure, sounds great.” Not only did it sound great it sounded kind of like a date. She sat down on the sand taking her shoes off.
“I love it here; the sand, the water, the sun. I can’t imagine ever leaving.” She dug her toes into the sand pulling her knees to her chest. She rested her chin on her arms and watched out over the water. “What about you? What is going on in that beautiful head of yours, you seem overly quite this evening?”
“I... love it here too.” She scooted closer to my side as I sat next to her. She leaned on my chest and grabbed my shirt. She looked up at me and smiled. “You are truly the most beautiful girl I have ever known.” Her eye flashed purple and green. I watched her wolf fight to come through. I heard her gasp and felt her heart beat quicken.
“I…I… I don’t think that’s possible.” The sun started setting over the water casting the sky with brilliant colors of orange, pink, and purple. Her eyes twinkled in the sun light. When her wolf won the fight her eye glowed. I felt her reach out and rubbed up against my mind., purring her body vibrating. Then…her lips were pressed against mine hands on my chest and around my neck. From the time her lips touched mine our wolves begged to make the bond. Mark her!My wolf was screaming at me. Electricity sparked through my body. She stopped and looked at me. She looked terrified at what she just done. She tried pulling away confusion filled her face. My wolf whimpered at her retraction.
“I…I… I am sorry.” She said breathlessly, she tried getting up to run away. But I was up and grabbing her hand before she had the chance to get away. I won’t let her leave like this. Not like this. I pulled her against me and pulled her face to mine.
“Tori please…” I pressed my lips against hers. At first, she froze. I felt her fear. Slowly her lips move in rhythm with mine. The electricity I felt sparking between us was dumbfounding, and I couldn’t get enough of her. Her wolf had gone silent and had given her reprieve. I had fallen in love with her. She wasn’t just my mate, but the love of my life. My mind sang with the revelation that she felt this way too. Now I must tell her, if there was any doubt before, it is all gone now…
“Please don’t go…”
