Mackenzie stared at Edie with a mixture of fear and relief. Edie was alive, but just like Penny, she’d been left out in the cold. How she ended up at the station, Mackenzie didn’t know.
Now that she was warming up, Makenzie saw bruises on Edie’s face. Mackenzie’s stomach turned at the thought of where else the woman might have bruises and what other trauma she’d been through.
