What would you do if your life was turned upside down? Fix it or accept it? Valeria Dupont is the name. I am a vampire slayer, the best of the best, or so i thought. I couldn't even protect my family from their own deaths. Worthless, right? May 15th 2010, the day they died. My parents were making rounds around the royal household. During that time we had a problem. Vampires were in abundance and were trying to turn anyone they can get their hands on. And being in a world where vampires are kept secret from the humans, we had trouble killing them without being noticed. The royals had requested my parents, the Dupont's, to guard them until everything was under control. But they didn't account for the duke to be turned. Someone had deliberately let a vampire in and he turned the duke into one of them. The duke ended up killing the whole royal family before we could stop them, but they thought that wasn't enough. My parents ended up dead because they were trying to protect the now dead royal family. I keep thinking they died in vain and there was nothing i could do to prevent it. I was only a child then, a 10 year old couldn't have saved them they told me, but i was a Dupont. Now 8 years later, i'm in my senior year at the Slayer Academy. I was taken in by my grandparents who were retired slayers. They had sent me to this school because they were too old to continue to teach me the skills necessary to become a slayer. So here i am and as you can see my life was turned upside down. My parents were famous in this world. They were the best at what they do, never had they once failed except for the day the died. Now everyone expects me to be the best, which i am, but it's not the same when you're doing it because of what you lost.
