Kai's POV
"The job is done boss, the drugs have been delivered." Adam, my Vp, said. We were in some weird olace in Chicago to deliver drugs. I solely left him to it since I was still trying to be myself.
"Good job, Adam." I said. "Got the money?"
"Yeah, prez." Adam said, handing over a bag to me. I slightly opened it to confirm it's content.
"Let's get the f**k out of here." I said, wearing my helmet and mounting Vigor. We rode out of the area.
I went on this one with Adam only. I wanted to be alone. I haven't been myself since Aurora left. It felt like the only light in my world suddenly went off. It made me wish I had made the contract a five year own or a ten year own.
I took a detour into the woods. There was a path we had forged in the woods. The club had gone through the area so many times that it was already getting mototable.
I stopped close to the edge of a cliff and Adam stopped right behind.
"Prez, forgive me if I overstep, but you've not been yourself for a while now." Adam said, walking close to me.
I slowly removed my helmet and stared at the sunset.
"Five mornings every week, I'd always being here to watch the sunrise." I said.
"Is this about the old lady?" Adam asked, making me chuckle.
"Let's just get out of here." I said, wearing my helmet. I mounted Vigor and we rode straight for the club.
I love Aurora. I've loved her from the first moment I saw her. That day in Tristan's diner. She was seated in a corner, looking distressed. Since then, I've loved her. I suggested a contract marriage for reasons I still don't understand. I'd have gotten the position anyways, I just wanted her.
We had gotten back to the clubhouse. Several bikes were parked out front.
"Since you fancy the old lady this much, why did you let her go?" Adam asked as I alighted Vigor.
"This life is a very dangerous one." I said. "I'd hate to put her in harm's way."
"Is that the only reason?"
"I fancy the old lady, I wish she did too." I responded, leaving Adam.
"Welcome prez." John, the sergeant at arms greeted as soon as he sighted me.
"What's good John? Get at any motherfuckers today?" I asked as I shook hands with and, greeted almost everyone.
"Everyone seems to be getting into their lanes." John said, making me smirk.
"Brian, get me a jug of Whiskey." I said to one of the prospects.
"Coming Prez." He responded.
Adam sat in front of me in the booth. John sat beside me and Kalashnikov sat in front of him. The other bikers were close by, having drinks and having fun.
"How did the operation go, prez?" John asked.
"How else do you expect?" Adam asked. I rarely answered such questions, but they keep asking. A lot of times, it pisses me off.
Brian came with my order and I gulped half of its content immediately.
"Would you like anything else, prez?" Brian asked. I waved him off and he left.
I dropped the bag of cash on the desk.
"Where the f**k is Tywin?" I asked.
"He's off with some red haired bitch." Kalashnikov said, making me chuckle.
"When he's done, let him check in the cash and clean it." I said. They all nodded and I took another gulp of the alcohol. "Is there anything else?"
"The Moretti BC are causing so much problems." Kalashnikov said. "They're expanding territories into ours and they have more men than we do."
"Honestly Prez, they have gone wild." Adam said. "Their diner has been shut down and now they're looking for business everywhere and anywhere."
"Why was the diner shut down?" I asked.
"They got raided by the police." Kalashnikov said. "Too many eyes on them, I think."
"The Morretis are powerful people. There's no way the police would attack them and they wouldn't have any knowledge of it beforehand." I said, trying to figure out what could be happening.
"The streets have gone silent about them." John said. "Nobody says anything about them. Everyone's just scared."
"Well, there's no way they'd come into my territory and have me scared." I said. "We'll use force if we have to, but no one is coming into this f*****g territory."
"That's what I'm talking about , Prez." Kalashnikov hit the table, giggling like a fool. "This energy is everything!"
"We met with one of them today. f*****g bold asshole." John spat. "He threatened to have the president's head if annoyed."
"And what did you do to him?" I asked , already getting very angry.
"I couldn't do nothing. 5 - 0 was everywhere." John responded. The police are always messing up with plans when I'm not there. We have people in the police but there were limits to what we could get.
"Did you at least get any good info on him?" I asked.
"Yes prez." John said, showing me a picture of the guy. "His name is Travis Jones."
I took a good look at the picture and smiled. It would not be a bad night to go hunting. It would at least get me off everything that was clogged in my head.
"Is this all then?" I asked.
"Yes, Prez." They replied simultaneously.
"Well then, I need to take a break from here and have some alone time." I said, taking the last gulp of the alcohol.
"Is there an old lady you're spending time with because for some time now, you've strayed from us." John said.
"Are you questioning me?" I asked lowly, making my voice sound harsher and deadlier than it always is.
"No, prez." He responded.
"Good." I said, leaving the table and diner. The bikers cheered as I walked out. I raised my hand to acknowledge their greetings. I took a barrel and a Glock, just in case I meet with Travis and have to teach him one or two things.
I mounted Vigor and drove round the city. I drove to the Moretti territory and I stopped by their diner. I was going to have a chat with the Travis bastard but they weren't in.
My mind soon drifted off. I wasn't wearing my gang jacket, so I wasn't recognized by anyone. I ordered another jug of alcohol and I drowned myself in sad thoughts of losing Aurora. I tried to make myself believe that I had done the right thing. It was the only way out. It'd be worse if she ends up getting shot because of me.
I spent some more time in the diner before leaving. The incidents after I left the diner were a blur. I remembered getting into a fight but I was too drunk to hit properly. They were all just hazes of whatever had happened.
A day later...
I sat in the clubhouse, going through the document Tywin had left for me. I had to be sure that the money was properly cleaned. The one way we stayed ahead of the game was appearing clean.
I had another jug of alcohol in front of me. It was halfway drunk. My mind drifted to Aurora again. I saw her smiling.
"Prez!" One of the prospects shouted, running into the clubhouse.
"Why are you shouting like you've seen the devil?" I asked, feeling a little angry.
"5 -0!" He shouted.
"Calm the f**k down." I ordered.
Almost immediately, the police walked in. Their cars were parked outside and I could not wait to get over whatever they had going on again.
"What is it again? Y'all don't take your eyes off a place?" I asked as one three of them walked towards me. One of them had his gun out. He pointed it at me.
"Kai Macbell, you're under arrest for the murder of Gregory Miles, I suggest you remain silent because, anything you say can and will be used against..." the first officer said, speaking on the words that follow. He turned me against the counter and cuffed my hands.
"What the f**k do you mean by murder officer?" I asked, trying to free myself. "I killed no one!"
"Tell that to the f*****g judge!"
What in the seven hells is going on?
