Aurora's POV
I was shaken to my core. I could barely drive us to the manor properly. My life flashed before my eyes that night. I tried not to imagine what would have happened if Kai hadn't shown up when he did.
I got to the manor, and Kai was barely awake. He forced his eyes open, but it was obvious that he could fall anytime soon. I tried putting his arms around my neck, so I'd help him walk in, but he rejected my offer, trying to look cool with the injury he had.
“Stop fighting it!” I growled at him, forcefully putting his hand around my shoulder. He didn't fight it this time. He just let me help him inside.
“Make sure she doesn't leave.” Kai grunted to the guards before we got in. “If she does, you'll be lucky to have your heads.”
