The First Chapter of Something New

Third Person's P.O.V "Man, I can't believe that we're still classmates this year." "Me neither." "It's so early in the morning. What the f**k?" "Motherfuckers are so f*****g loud." There were different kinds of students, talking and murmuring to themselves. It was so early in the morning still, a lot were talking, a lot were yawning and a lot were ogling at two specific people. Gevia was out catwalking through the door and Alex following behind. Gevia was, again, oblivious to Alex's presence. Too focused on her own glamour to even pay attention to the things around her. Alex was fine with that. Alex didn't mind anything that Gevia was doing unless it was something that was inconvenient for people. People were always thinking how come Alex and Gevia were always together or in the same spot if they were enemies. It was a question that no one knew the answer to. "Oh, my f*****g God. What is this?" Gevia dramatically announced. Her tone was slightly higher and pitchier than the others, showing her reign over common people. Gevia's question was left unanswered. She was baffled that no one dared to talk to her, implying that she was feared. And she liked that. But that was only for a brief moment. Alex, who was behind her, touched Gevia's shoulder by placing a hand. "What do you mean, Princess?" Alex asked with a hint of smirk on Alex's face. Gevia flinched, surprised by the sudden touch. No one wanted to touch Gevia, not because she was too perfect, but because they were too afraid to do so. Alex was the very first person to ever touch Gevia. "Don't f*****g touch me!" Gevia shouted, slapping Alex's hand away. Alex wasn't at all frightened. Alex gave Gevia a teasing smile before proceeding to the middle of the classroom. Alex sat on a chair, not baffled by everyone's stare. Gevia was shooting daggers at Alex's calm demeanor. The room's temperament intensifies. The tension was rising and those who were caught up in it were either scared or entertained. Gevia made her way to her chair, which was at the front. She wanted to make sure that she was going to beat Alex this school year. They were always in a tie when it came to academics. Gevia wanted to break the curse. She wanted to prove that she was better than everyone, especially against her rival. Alex smirked and moved beside Gevia, further annoying Gevia. "What the f**k do you want?!" Gevia shouted again, attracting attention. "You're so loud," Alex stated nonchalantly, as if it was never a complaint. Gevia's eyebrows furrowed when she saw Alex's solemn face. Gevia decided to take a deep breath, not wanting her morning to get ruined by her rival. She folded her legs and her arms, closing her eyes, waiting for the teacher. Alex noticed the silence and decided to take a quick peek at Gevia. Gevia's long eyelashes were touching her cheeks, kissing them softly. The straight nose that every teen girl dreamed of. And those luscious lips that everyone wanted to taste. "Good morning, class!" the teacher's chirpy voice made Gevia open her eyes. The teacher was explaining a lot of things to the students. The rules when it comes to time and her subjects, homework and projects. "Ah! Speaking of projects, I'd like to require you to have a partner throughout the whole semester." the teacher unwittingly said, forgetting about Gevia's dislikeness when it comes to interacting with people. "No f*****g way!" Gevia objected so daringly. The teacher flinched, scared for her life. With just one word from Gevia, and the mafia would do anything to fire the teacher, or worse, murder the teacher. The teacher's eyes shake as she looks at Gevia's glaring orbs. "I-I'm sorry, but it's, it's part of the-" the teacher couldn't finish her sentence and bowed down her head. "I'm sorry! Please, excuse me!" the teacher ran towards the door, exiting the classroom. Everyone was finding their own partners. Some were shooting their shots at Alex, trying to get into Alex's private life, but Alex was unamused, unmoved by their mediocre advancement. "Why the f**k won't anyone partner up with me? I'm f*****g smart! Fuckers." Gevia started cussing, but it wasn't loud enough to overpower the loud chatter of her classmates. But Alex was listening and smiling to themself. Alex waited, not wanting to always be present whenever Gevia needed something. Alex wanted to wait. "I-I can be your partner." a random guy said out of the blue. That attracted Alex's attention. Alex's eyes went wide, looking at the two of them with such delirious eyes. The smile on Gevia's face made Alex crazy. Gevia was relieved that someone was willing to be her partner. She needed one fast. She didn't want to be beaten by Alex when it came to popularity. I'm going to treat this asshole like a princess. Gevia thought to herself with a bit of gratitude in her head. She smiled and hugged the guy. The hug turned heads. Whispers suddenly started circulating around, rumors spreading like wildfire. "Great! Let's go pass our names!" Gevia said and dragged the guy out of the classroom. Alex and everyone else were left dumbfounded. Gevia touched someone so freely, so nonchalantly. It shocked everyone. The smile on Gevia's face was enough. They were awestruck. Gevia looked so beautiful when she smiled. She shook the room's atmosphere. "What the f**k just happened?" "Gevia smiled?" "Dope, she looked so beautiful." "Hmm," Alex hummed. Alex found her partner and went to submit their names to the teacher. Alex was on the lookout for a familiar blonde, but Alex didn't find that person. Not even in the office. It irritated Alex, but Alex gave up. Alex went home. Butlers, maids, and criminals welcomed her home. They immediately provided her with care, such as refreshments and a pair of slippers. Alex didn't want to wear shoes inside their mansion because Alex felt like it was going to feel a bit more of a house than it already was. "Where's Dad?" Alex asked, not bothering to look around. Alex's dad wasn't always around. Alejandro Samson was a busy man, raiding areas and trying to fight off Gevia's dad. The only part where there was no ownership was at the center of the city, where Gevia and Alex were studying. "Sir Alenjadro is still out, Sire." Jacob, Alejandro's righthand man said, bowing his head to Alex. "Why did I even ask?" Alex shook their head and went to her room without touching the refreshments being served. Alex laid down on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Alex replayed what had happened earlier in school. Someone partnered up with Gevia and Gevia smiling, touching that guy with no doubt. "What the f**k?" Alex asked. The eyebrows knitted together in a forceful manner. Gevia, on the other hand, was skidding happily to her room, smiling so widely that it hurt her cheeks. But she didn't mind. She was happy that she had made a friend. Happy that someone, other than Alex, stood up and offered a hand. "How's my little princess doing?" Gevia's dad asked, welcoming his daughter with extended arms. Gevia giggled before snuggling inside her father's embrace. Gevia inhaled and exhaled, enjoying the scent of her dad. Gevia and Dave always had a tight bond. Spending time together. Since Gevia's mother had passed away, Dave made sure that nothing bad was going to happen to Gevia as she was the only one he had left. Dave promised his deceased wife that he was going to take care of their child. Dave was going to keep that promise until the day he died and the only obstacle that had a possibility of making him break his promise was Alejandro. Alejandro was a threat to him, to his only family. Dave swore to give Alejandro a swift death. But that has been going on for decades. "I'm doing okay, Daddy. I made a friend." Gevia replied happily. It warmed Dave's heart, seeing his daughter smile. "Oh? Really? A girl?" Gevia rolled her eyes. "Yuck. I wouldn't want to befriend fake people." Dave chuckled, realizing again that he had somehow parented Gevia to be a little too serious with life and people. "So a guy?" "Yes, Daddy. He was shaking the entire time though. We're partners for a project." Dave nodded. "And what about Alejandro's daughter? Did she bother you?" "She always does, Daddy. There's no new to that." "That's true. Are you hungry? Do you want to eat out?" Dave wiggled his upper body, dragging his daughter's momentum with him as he swayed. The two were semi-dancing with no music on. "I'm not hungry, Daddy. I'm a bit tired though. Can I rest for tonight?" "Sure, baby. I'll let you rest. Tomorrow, let's go out and eat dinner." "Just the two of us?" Gevia had to ask. Dave laughed nervously. "I'm sorry, darling. Alejandro's coming along with Alex." Gevia rolled her eyes, but nodded. She really didn't have any choice. "Goodnight, Daddy." "Goodnight, baby." Dave kissed Gevia's forehead before walking away. Alejandro and Dave might be out and after each other's necks, but they had this connection and silent agreement that if someone were to ask someone out for dinner, the other had to go. Otherwise, one should be nervous about a family's safety. Dave didn't want to take the opportunity of danger. Gevia had no choice but to go. It was her father that asked her before to come along when he was going to eat dinner with Alejandro. Keep your enemies closer, was what they said. "This is going to be hell." Gevia said to herself.
