Marcus Pov

1158 Words
Marcus stood at the edge of the crowd, his eyes locked on Olivia as she interacted with Prince Alexander. The sight of them together sent a burning wave of fury through his veins. His wolf snarled in the back of his mind, urging him to take action, to rip the prince apart and claim what was his. He had made a mistake, yes, but that didn’t mean he was about to let some royal Lycan waltz in and steal Olivia from him. His jealousy was like a living thing, clawing at his insides, feeding off his rage. He had been wrong to reject her, to think she wasn’t strong enough to be his Luna. But the idea of her with someone else—especially someone as powerful as Alexander—made him see red. How could he have been so blind? Olivia wasn’t weak; she was everything he could have ever wanted, everything he needed. And now, watching her with Alexander, all he could think about was how badly he wanted her back, how desperately he needed to make her his again. The moment the royals and Olivia’s parents disappeared into the chamber, leaving Olivia standing alone, Marcus saw his chance. His vision tunneled as he strode toward her, each step fueled by the raw, primal need to reclaim what he had thrown away. His wolf was practically howling inside him, demanding that he take her back by any means necessary. “Olivia!” he barked, his voice rough and edged with the fury he was barely containing. She turned to face him, her eyes widening at the intensity in his voice. There was no softness in his gaze, only a wild, desperate determination that made her take a step back. But Marcus didn’t care. All he could see was the woman he had let slip through his fingers, and the knowledge that he was losing her to another man—his rival, no less—only fueled the fire raging within him. “Marcus… what—?” she began, but he cut her off, closing the distance between them with a few long strides. “I made a mistake,” he growled, his voice low and dangerous. “I was wrong to reject you, Olivia. You’re not weak—you’re strong, stronger than any of us realized. And you belong to me.” She blinked, clearly startled by the ferocity in his tone. “Marcus, I—” “No!” He nearly shouted, his hand reaching out to grab her arm, his grip tight. “You don’t understand. I won’t let him take you from me. You’re mine, Olivia. You were always mine.” Her eyes flickered with fear and confusion, and she tried to pull away, but Marcus held firm, his gaze dark and wild. “Marcus, let go of me,” she said, her voice trembling, but there was a strength in her that hadn’t been there before. A strength that made him pause, just for a moment. But the pause was fleeting, and his jealousy roared back to life, almost overwhelming him. “I love you, Olivia. I love you, and I’m not going to let you go without a fight,” he snarled, pulling her closer, his eyes blazing with a possessiveness that bordered on madness. “I don’t care what it takes. I’ll make you see that you’re supposed to be with me, not him.” Olivia stared at him, her heart pounding in her chest. This wasn’t the Marcus she knew—the calm, confident Alpha she had once admired. This was a man consumed by jealousy and rage, a man on the edge of losing control. “Marcus, you’re scaring me,” she whispered, trying to reach the man she had once loved. But before Marcus could respond, the chamber doors burst open, and Prince Alexander stepped out, his presence like a shockwave that rippled through the room. His gaze instantly locked onto the scene before him, his eyes narrowing as he took in the sight of Marcus holding Olivia against her will. “Let her go,” Alexander commanded, his voice cold and authoritative, brooking no argument. Marcus turned to face the prince, his grip on Olivia tightening instinctively. His wolf snarled in challenge, but he knew, deep down, that he was no match for Alexander. Not physically, not politically, not in any way that mattered. But the thought of backing down, of letting this man take Olivia from him, was unbearable. “She’s mine,” Marcus hissed, his voice low and threatening. “You don’t get to just walk in here and take her.” Alexander’s eyes flashed dangerously, and in a blur of motion, he was at Olivia’s side, prying Marcus’s hand off her arm with a strength that left no room for resistance. “She’s not yours,” Alexander said, his voice quiet but filled with an undercurrent of lethal intent. “She was never yours to claim like this. If you truly cared for her, you’d let her make her own choice.” Marcus’s heart pounded in his chest, a mix of fear and fury churning inside him. He looked at Olivia, who was staring at him with wide, frightened eyes, and for the first time, he realized what he had done. He had let his jealousy, his possessiveness, turn him into someone he barely recognized. Someone who was willing to hurt the woman he loved just to keep her. “Olivia…” he began, his voice faltering as the weight of his actions crashed down on him. But the look in her eyes—the fear, the confusion, the hurt—cut him deeper than any physical wound ever could. Before he could say another word, Alexander stepped between them, his presence a wall of protection that Marcus knew he couldn’t breach. The prince’s gaze was locked on him, a silent warning that any further attempt to force the issue would end badly for him. Realizing he had lost—truly lost—Marcus took a step back, his hands clenching and unclenching at his sides as he struggled to contain the whirlwind of emotions tearing through him. He wanted to fight, to demand that Olivia choose him, but the look on her face told him everything he needed to know. She was lost for words, unable to process what had just happened. And in that silence, Marcus felt his world crumble. He had let her go, and now, he had lost her forever. With a heavy heart, Marcus turned and walked away, leaving Olivia and Alexander behind. Each step he took was a reminder of the cost of his jealousy, of the love he had destroyed with his own hands. And as he disappeared into the night, he knew there was no coming back from this. He had lost the one thing that truly mattered, and it was all his fault.
