CHAPTER 9
When they pulled up in front of Carlos’ folks’ home, his mom and dad came out the door. Louise hurried over and hugged Katie.
“Are you alright?” she asked. “We just heard about the robbery. I was just about to call you when I saw your car pull up.”
“I’m fine. We had an undercover policeman with us. We were perfectly safe,” declared Katie.
Carlos laughed. “Gabe Wilson was there undercover, but he said the girls took care of the robbers on their own. He was very impressed with their moves. He wanted the chief to offer them a job on the police force.”
“I don’t want to work on the police force,” declared Katie. “I am perfectly happy with Coffee and Sweets. It’s what I have always wanted to do.”
