CHAPTER 10
After talking to Star and Bambi the next morning, Katie prepared a sign to put in the window. The sign simply said, Busser Wanted. Katie stood back and looked at the sign. She sighed. If the sign didn’t bring the needed help, they could try something else. She hurried to the kitchen to prepare her sweets for the day.
The day did start out busy. From when they opened at nine o’ clock, they had a steady stream of customers. They all wanted to talk about the Glossen brothers and thank Star, Bambi, and Katie for getting them off the street. Some of the business owners stopping by began to explain why they had not helped to get rid of the brothers before. They explained about the threats made to their families.
