CHAPTER 11
Katie brought out a tray of sweets to put in the display cases. She stood for a minute watching Mac bussing the tables.
“He is doing a great job,” said Star. “A lot of the customers know him and he is always smiling and friendly with them. I have already seen several customers leaving him tips. When he got the first tip, he brought it over and asked me what he should do with it. I told him it was for him. The look of amazement on his face was priceless.”
Katie laughed softly. “I’m glad he is doing so well. It will be good for him if his first job experience is a happy one.”
“I’m going to give him a bag of sweets to take home with him,” said Star.
“Good,” agreed Katie. She turned and headed back to the kitchen. “I had better get back to baking.”
