CHAPTER 12
“Good morning, I’m Lori Larkin. Miss McCray asked me to stop by and see her about a job,” Lori presented herself at the counter of Coffee and Sweets first thing the next morning.
“Hello, Mrs. Larkin, I’m Star Connors. Katie is in the kitchen. If you will take a seat, I’ll tell her you are here,” replied Star with a smile. Lori smiled and went to sit at one of the tables. Star went to the kitchen to fetch Katie.
“Ash’s mother is out front,” said Star.
“Okay, thanks, tell her I’ll be right out,” replied Katie. As soon as Star went back to the front, Katie took out her phone and called Carlos. “Hi, Ash’s mother is here,” said Katie.
“Okay, I’ll be right over. I love you,” said Carlos.
