Xavier's P.O.V I couldn't describe the anger that I felt on seeing Irene still wearing the same clothes she had on before she left. I heard Irene throwing a fit up the stairs, screaming and crying for them to leave her alone. Sounds of broken glasses echoed around the house but that wasn't my business, my gaze was fixed on the wall clock. It was two minutes remaining and if Irene wasn't out before the time lapsed, then trouble would surely ensue. Sitting at the slave quarters was something that the servants found surprising because whenever they locked eyes with me, they stood still, quivering with their heads ducked down until I dispersed them off. "Leave me alone! I don't want to get married " Irene screamed out her lungs as she was dragged out by some servants. The mascara on her face was smeared by the tears that streamed down her face. She was a total mess with her disheveled hair. "I tried to do my best by dressing her well but she ruined it herself. I am sorry, master, please forgive me" Servant Lily, the one that I had assigned under the care of Irene muttered, clasping her hands together as she pleaded for mercy. "Get out of my sight before I change my mind" I scowled as she ebbed towards Irene. A taunting smile creased on my lips on seeing her horrible face, I didn't know when I burst out in laughter. Her jaw clenched and I could see how she was trying to hold the tears that were threatening to fall. "Bring her outside" I ordered, walking away and sauntering towards the priest. I had hired a fake priest to solemnize the marriage between Irene and me. The reflection of the moon lit up the entire compound while the sparking golden lights enhanced the beauty. The wedding was to take place at the swan lake behind my house and I had to make the decorations beautiful so that they would look believable to Supreme Alpha Conan. He had warned other Alphas against coming to my wedding because he was scared that another Alpha might try to launch an attack on me the same way Liam did. He didn't attend too because he wanted to grieve his son who wasn't allowed to visit the pack house until his suspension was lifted. The only people present at the wedding were her father who was using crutches to support himself after I had his limbs broken and her stepmother who beamed with a smile as she took pictures. I connected with Damian through the mind link, telling him to collect her phone and stop her from taking any other pictures till the wedding ends. The pack members also sat down while some servants hovered around the area, trying to catch a glimpse of the wedding proceedings. "Alpha Xavier, where's the bride?" The priest whispered into my ear, while I checked the time. "She would soon be......" Before I was done with my statement, I saw her from a distance walking slowly as if she was lost in thoughts. She walked down the aisle with the bouquet in her hands, she looked absent-minded because she didn't even notice her father's presence until he called her name. "Irene" She paused on her track, glancing at her father who extended his hands, motioning for her to take his hands so that he could walk her down the aisle. She stared at his hands hanging in the air, letting out a scoff before walking towards the aisle on her own. Her stepmother gasped, covering her hands with her mouth."My baby, what happened to your makeup? Who dressed her like this on her happy day?" Her stepmother yelled while Irene shot a dead glare at her as she suddenly clamped her mouth shut. She locked eyes with me for a moment and somehow, I felt my heart skip a beat. It was so surprising to me because this was the first time my heart would skip a beat because of a woman. "D-Did you two write any special vows?" The fake priest stuttered, throwing me into a state of total confusion because he was already informed about the wedding being fake so hearing him ask about our vows was so surprising. I raised a brow as he quickly ducked his head down while glancing at Irene who stared into space. Suddenly, I felt the urge to taunt her. I took a step forward, snapping my fingers before her "Hey! You should smile it's your wedding day" She shot dead stares at me, before fixing her gaze on the priest. My eyes twitched as I was taken aback for a second. Earlier, she was scared of me and now, all her fears seemed to have just vanished into thin air and now she was giving me an attitude. "Hurry up and pronounce us husband and wife!" I glared at the priest who quivered immediately. "S-Sorry" He stuttered. "But what about the rings?" He added. "Oh! The rings" I gasped, bringing the ring out of my pocket. I forcefully grabbed Irene's hands, sliding the ring down her finger. When I slid the ring down her finger, I felt a tingling sensation on my skin as I quickly withdrew my hands from hers. Her eyes filled with emptiness glowed with glitters. How could she just have an effect on me like that? I cleared my throat, sliding the ring down my finger and she didn't look bothered one bit. She just lowered her head, with the strand of hair on her face, momentarily obscuring her vision before she tucked it behind her ear while heaving a sigh. "With the power vested in me, I now pronounce you as husband and wife" Cheers erupted from the crowd as applause followed afterwards. I moved closer to her, leaning forward as she almost flinched. "I would be taking you to meet the Supreme Alpha soon, I hope you are of best behavior, wife."
