Genii Alliance

Atlantis had been in Pegasus for less than a week, and they had already inoculated a dozen planets that the Athosians had brought to them, and Laydon had finally dialed back. They had just lowered the shield when O'Neill and Carter made it to the Command Tower. As promised he had 21 people with him, leaders of the Genii Alliance of Planets that was 22 planets strong. "General O'Neill, as promised the Genii Alliance. We have semt word to our trading partners that there has been a significant breakthrough in the work. You can expect the number to grow quickly as word spreads." Laydon told him honestly extending his hand. "Is it true General?" one of the others asked him. "Is what true?" he asked her. "That your Dr. Keller has reduced the lethality rate of the Hoffan d**g to just 2 percent of those exposed?" she asked him. "2.7 percent actually, but yes it is true." Dr. Keller said from the upper deck where the conference room was. "General, in behalf of the Pegasus Alliance we have ust request access to 350 million doses as quickly as they can be made. Our 200 planet Alliance is ready to deoy it immediately." another of the delegayes said as they were escorted to the conference room. O'Neill and Carter were amazed at this news, as they had never dared to hope that the Humans were this organized. "You will have to forgive me as we never expected this. How can you speak for so many people at once?" Carter asked as they entered the conference room. Laydon waited to answer until the Conference Room door closed. "General, we have hoped and prayed Atlantis would return to the fight here. However we have been continuing the work on the Hoffan d**g, working to bring the lethal rate down. However the situation in the Pegasus Galaxy is dire." he said as he pulled out a data file for their projector. "The Human population of Pegasus is at a critical tipping point, and the Wraith know it. If the culling continues for so many, Humans will be an endagered species if not extinct. The survivors of Michaels experiments have become so dispersed they can no longer he tracked or eliminated, however the Wraith have developed the means to detect the d**g. "Because their current food source is so severely depleted the Wraith have formed Alliances that control swaths of the Galaxy. Even so their ranks are unable to be supplied for, and their is infighting for scarce resources. The Races of Pegasus however have banded together more than ever before. "For the last two years we have expanded our sphere of influence, and now roughly 280 planets form a loose Alliance of Planets. Atlantis would be on the outer edge, but our planets locations essentially take a corner of the Galaxy. If we could deploy the Hoffan d**g to this section, it would destabilize 3 of the Alliances, as 2 would entirely loose their food source completely. There are 9 Wraith Alliances, if we could distribute it throughout the Galaxy, we might survive or atleast would ensure the Wraith die with us. Our Alliance has already passed measures that if the mortality rate fell below 15 percent it would be mass produced and distributed throughout our alliance and as much of the Galaxy we could reach." Laydon finished his presentation for them. O'Neill was impressed as they had yet to deploy their ships to engage any of the Wraith. Todd was nit aware of their exact location, as he had not been allowed to observe when the landed. "Well it seems we have work to do. Dr. Keller, your report?" he asked. Dr. Keller nodded knowing this had been their plan. "We have 2 options for dispersal of the Hoffan Treatment, innoculation or wide area dispersal. The benefit of either option is the treatment is infectious, meaning one person could expose potentially dozens or hundreds. Each recipient would become contagious within hours, and would remain so for roughly a week prior to developing symptoms. If symptoms occur. Symptoms are predicted in about 5 percent of the population, and 20 percent of them will be fatal. "We have aerial drones that could be loaded with enough aerosolized treatment to cover several small villages, or a modestly sized city. If innoculation is used, it is advised to start with a portion of the community that is exposed to others as much as possible. "Either option will cause secondary infections of the d**g. I have enough innoculations for 5 million doses currently, and enough aerosol to launch 50 drones. It will take a month to synthesize 50 million more doses, and enough aerosol for 200 drone missions." Dr. Keller reported of her supply. "What are the odds of secondary infection?" Laydon asked. "92 percent, it is what we refer to as a super infector. It recently released on our planet due to an accident, and the mortality rate was 7 percent roughly. The infection rate after nearly 2 years has been 100 percent of global population." she said as the compressed data appeared. "With the infectious benefit we could do a controlled release on a member world to test the theory. How many would we need to innoculate?" Laydon asked. "Would depend on the person. Depending on how much contact you have with others would be a major factor. A single dose escaped our control on Earth, and it became global attaching to a cold virus." Dr. Keller said remembering what had caused the Covid outbreak. "The current innoculation is a version of that virus that has been modified to reduce even the 7 percent fatality rate. Those who develop symptoms and especially perish will have miserable fates. It may severely overwhelm your medical facilities." she finished telling them. "We are prepared for that Dr. Keller. Without Medical treatment, how many of the 20 percent symptomatic would perish?" Laydon asked. "Between 5 and 9 percent overall." she told them surprised. "Is there any way to tell who may be susceptible to symptoms?" "Depends on the level of medical technology, but yes there are ways to tell who may be more susceptible. Those that are generally healthy have the least chance of being symptomatic." she replied. "Thank you Doctor Keller, General we request immediate dispersal of the innoculation to our alliance. Even 25 thousand doses per planet should be sufficent if it is as infectious as claimed. It would also enable strategic deployment to destablilize the Wraith even further." Laydon requested. "Each of you agree?" O'Neill asked to be met with nods as he looked around the room. "Very well Dr. Keller, prepare the innoculations for disbursement to the alliance. As you know the Strategy far better than we do, we will allow you to dictate the targets of the first 50 drones. Afterward we will disperse it strategically as we see fit. Dr. Keller, focus on the aerosols as that will be our most effective dispersal method." he ordered and they all nodded. "General O'Neill, as President of the Pegasus Alliance, we would like to offer an invitation to join us in the fight against the Wraith." Laydon Radim said standing. "Dr. If you woukd innoculate us first, we will begin spreading it through our leadership." he requested as well. O'Neill was a little surprised by this. "We would welcome the opportunity. However you must be informed we are also working towards a goal that will lead to peace with the Wraith and Survival of both species." "So long as it does not involve them continuing to feed on Humans we have no objection." Laydon told him as the conference room doors opened. "If they accept it would lead to them not feeding on Humans at all." he told them as Dr. Keller lead the delegates of the Pegasus Alliance to the hospital ward.
