Shane greeted Haness warmly, despite her visible anger. "Hi, sweetheart."
Haness's tone was icy. "You have the nerve to call me sweetheart? I've waited a full month for my wardrobe to be changed, and you've done nothing! What kind of boyfriend are you?"
Shane remained calm. "I'm aware of it, Haness. Please be patient. I barely have money to feed my family, but I'll change your wardrobe as soon as possible."
Haness's anger flared. "So, you prioritize your worthless family over me?"
Shane's patience wore thin. "Don't insult my family, Haness."
Haness issued an ultimatum. "I'm giving you two days, Shane. Two days!"
Shane gulped, feeling uneasy. "My family wants to meet you. Be ready tomorrow."
Haness scoffed. "You expect me to set foot in that wretched house? You're heartless!"
Shane returned home, feeling frustrated, and found Kemmy sleeping in his room.
The next morning, Shane welcomed Haness, who announced she would stay for two months. Kemmy's curiosity turned to disdain upon meeting Haness.
As Haness ordered Shane to fetch her soap, Kemmy intervened, "Rea..."
Shane intercepted, "I'll do it. Kemmy's running late for school."
Haness's cold demeanor toward Kemmy sparked tension.
After Haness's departure, Kemmy confronted Shane. "What's wrong with your girlfriend?"

As Kemmy walked home with Lawrence, Christian, the guy who bumped into her, teased her.
