"Are you okay?" I ask and search all over his body for injuries.
His fingers are bloody but upon a closer look, I realize it's not his blood. I try to take his face in my hands but he looks away putting his hand in the way to block me.
"I'm fine," he states without even looking at me.
Something about him feels off and his reaction toward me makes me think that he has a problem with me. He has never pushed me away throughout those months we have dated. I can't say we haven't faced challenges as a couple but I can say I have never seen that repulsive look in his eyes.
He tries to pull himself up and fails on the first attempt. I offer to help him up but he dismisses me again. He takes a moment to look at Roman who has been left standing alone and swallows hard before looking away
