7. THE INVITATION

705 Words
ONE NIGHT BEFORE THE PARTY: {I was sitting in my office cabin and reviewing some works of my employees. I was working since the morning and have not had food since the morning. I am really hungry and want something to go down my throat, straight into my stomach. I was gonna tell my secretary to bring me something to eat, finally. But instead he knocked on my door. "Come in." I say "Sir, we have received this invitation from the Broon Group of companies for our newly formed mutual contract with them." My secretary enters, holding a rectangular box. "Give it to me." I put my hand forward. {I opened the invitation, delighted. The invitation is made up of a golden smooth box consisting of beautiful pink lotus on its cover and the insides of it were all white whereas the text written inside was all black ink with a beautiful cursive font.} To, Mr. Vihaan Sinha and Family. This invitation is regarding the celebration of our mutual contract and affiliation to celebrate we require you to have your humble participation in our happiness. The mutual understanding between us companies will help us grow more and work on many future projects in the coming years. We hope that you accept our invitation and celebrate with us this moment of happiness. Yours lovely, The Broon Group of Companies. Venue: Sicilian Grand Hotel, Dew Road, Block no. 80 New Delhi. {I close the letter after reading it and wonder what to wear for the party invitation. I ask my secretary to finally bring in some food for me, now completely forgetting about the party. My younger step-brother Aaksh Sinha comes in.} "Brother! What's up, still working?" He comes, smiling and sits onto my working desk. "Yes Aakash. Have to finish this up." I reply, not looking at him and busy doing what I am doing. {Behind, my secretary is still ordering food for me.} "Sir, what will you have for dinner?" He asked me, having a phone in his one hand. "Anything you like." I reply to him, concentrating and immersed. "You have still not had your food? " Aakash asks me. "Yes. I have to complete this first." I still don't look at him. "Since when is he sitting here?" Aaksh asks my secretary. "Since morning sir." "What!" Aakash exclaims. "Hey, you just concentrate on ordering for me. Fast! I'm hungry." I scold my secretary for paying attention to other things instead of ordering my food. "You'll definitely be, brother. You don't take care at all. We have to remind you to take your food and stuff. This is really bad." He says. "What will I do? I have so much work load. I am not free like you all three brothers right?" I reply, purposely. {I personally don't like him} "Brother! I am speaking nicely to you. Why are you always taunting?" Aakash asks, frowning. {I completely ignore Aaksh's talks. I'm not interested. These all three brothers are the same.} "Sir, will you have some rice with fish?" Secretary begins again. What's he doing? "Yes. It'll work." I say, angrily, gritting my teeth. "Anyways, I came here to talk about the invitation from the Broon company. Have you received it?" He asks, avoiding the building fight. "Of course I will receive it. I must have received it before y'all as I am the director here. Is this even a thing to ask?" I say, shrugging, proudly. "I just asked because,..." I interrupted him. "Instead, I should ask you whether they have invited you or not." I taunt, again. "Yes. We have got an invitation." He says. "Oh really! That's so sweet of them or I thought they only invite those who really work hard for their companies and that over here is only me." I say. "Sir, would you like anything too?" Mu secretary asks Aakash. "No, I'm fine. I shall leave. There's no use talking good to you." He says to me. "Who's asking you to talk? It's better you don't disturb my work." I say. {He leaves from there, annoyed. I don't like these three brothers at all. So lazy and un-bothered about everything. Thankgod they are my step. I hate them.}
