Chapter 27 Terrell Terrell felt the shift in Ava’s emotions before he heard her scream. He had already been on his way to the back of the café when he heard it. He sprinted through the kitchen and out the back door just as Ava was being hauled into the back of a black Lincoln town car. Terrell ran. He chased the car down the small side street. He knew if he was going to catch the car he had to do it fast, otherwise once it hit the interstate he’d never keep up. He recited the license plate to himself, committing it to memory.
