~Yvonne Beeman~ Today is the full moon festival day and I'm supposed to go and see my mom, but the Alpha told me to stop visiting her, because she wasn't important. For the past two years, I haven't visited mom to know how she's been faring and discuss with her. Alpha Storm said I was reporting him to my dead mother who couldn't do anything to him, so I couldn't visit her again. Flashback... After mom died, every full moon festival day I spent half the day with Mom until my dad's wife made me stop spending so much time with her after I turned eleven. Aunty Mabel said I was only permitted to stay for just one hour. When I was nineteen, on the full moon festival day, aunty Mabel said I could stay for as long as I wanted. I was happy at the same time confused and scared as to why that evil witch would want me to spend the time I was supposed to use for my house chores with 'a dead person.' as she usually calls mom. I was scared and uncomfortable to the extent that I couldn't say the things I wanted to say to mom, because I knew something wasn't right. I decided to spend less time with Mom, so I could go home on time to know what awaited me. Before leaving, I explained everything to mom and made her understand why I had to leave in a hurry. I was about leaving when I faintly perceived the smell of a freshly cut lemongrass mixed pineapple mint. I wanted to look for where the smell was coming from when dad came. "Yvonne, let's go home now," Dad said, dragging me without hearing a response from me. I ignored the smell and followed dad at once. When we got out, a cab was already waiting, we entered and the driver drove off with high speed. I was curious as to why dad came in such hurry. I wanted to ask him, and I also wanted to see the person emitting such graceful fragrance, but I lost the chance to. River was about telling me who the person was when dad broke the unpleasant news to me. "Yvonne, you are getting married to the rich, powerful, mighty and famous Alpha Storm Holmes," He announced. "Wha-What!!" I exclaimed as my mouth fell wide. "Oh, sorry, you are already married and he is waiting for you at home. So when you get home behave. Pack your belongings and follow him without asking questions." "I don't understand?" I said looking intently at him. "Hope you've never met a man before?" Dad asked. It became obvious that he didn't want to make me understand, rather he was asking obscene questions. 'What is this man up to?' I asked myself and my wolf. "Have you ever been touched by a man before?" He barked at my face, making me tremble. "N-No, I-" I stammered. "Thank goodness!" He sighed. "That's all I want to hear." "S-So, I'm getting married?" I asked dad, trying to stop myself from crying. "You are already married." He calmly said and placed a hand on my shoulder which I shrugged off impulsively. "You know I want the best for you, the Alpha is strong and he will protect you better than I ever can," he said in an attempt console or convince me. I really wanted to meet my fated mate and be with him no matter who he was. I consoled myself with the thought that the Alpha could be my mate. All the while River 'my wolf' wasn't saying anything and it scared the hell out of me. I wanted to celebrate that I was getting married finally and leaving the wicked Aunt Mabel when River finally spoke up. 'Why are you the one marrying the Alpha? Can't you think? Sometimes I wonder what you use your head for," She sighed. Normally, any suitor that came for my hand in marriage, Aunt Mabel tries to lure them to marry her daughter, so why on Earth would she allow me marry the rich, mighty and famous Alpha Storm Holmes? "Dad, why am I the one marrying the Alpha, why not Hilda?" I asked. "The Alpha knows what he wants," Dad replied, but River wasn't satisfied. I folded my arms across my chest, giving dad an 'I don't believe you' look. "What?" He asked and I shook my head. "Fine, it's because the Alpha seeks a virgin and Hilda is not." He opened up. "Why is the Alpha seeking a virgin in your house? Does he want to make a sacrifice?" I asked. "Well, you remember the debts we owed the late Alpha Holmes? Alpha Storm, his son came to collect else he would destroy our family," Dad explained. "So in other words, I'm a means of exchange for the money you used to pay for your wife's hospital bills?" I asked dad, feeling hurt. "I'm sorry, but she's your mother," Dad said. "No, that evil witch is not my mother and she can never be my mother." I argued and that earned me a slap across the face. "You dare not call your mother an evil witch." He yelled, I wanted to hurt him, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. "She is your wife, my father's wife! She is not my mother! My mother is dead, she died eleven years ago." I yelled. My palm held up against my hurt cheek. "I'm sorry... Yvonne, I'm so..." Dad started to plead. "Nevermind, your wife does worst than this in your presence and you say or do nothing about it. So it's not new to me, I'm used to it," I replied him. I didn't say anything to him again, until we got home, where I met Alpha Storm Holmes waiting to take me like goods he already paid for, taking me to his estate. The sound of my door opening brought me back from the sour past I just visited. I looked up to see Irene, one of the low ranked wolves who worked in the pack house. Irene is a matured lady, who would be in her early thirties and the only reason I could survive the fierceness of the Alpha. "My Luna, the alpha has gone out for meeting with other packs' Alphas. After that, he'll be meeting with the council of elders, then he will go and drink with his w****s. So you have nothing to worry about, you can go and see your mother, while I cover up for you," She said reassuringly. Irene had caught me looking sad and distressed earlier today, asked what the problem was and I explained to her that I wanted to go see my mom, but for the past two years, the alpha stopped me from going, so she asked me to wait for her to go and find out what the Alpha's schedule would be like. Now I got what I needed to hear from her, I immediately prepared, sneaking out of the mansion to mom's memorial service. About thirty minutes after I got to mom, I heard the Alpha's hoarse voice calling my name. I trembled in fear as he got to where I was. "Haven't I warned you not to visit this place ever again in your miserable life?" He roared at my face, as he grabbed my hair and dragged me with it, making me squeal in pains. His personal assistant, Todd, whispered something to his ears. I guessed he was telling him that there could be people around, because he pushed me carelessly after that action. I fell on the ground and got a few bruises all over my body. Those bruises felt hot and itchy, but it wasn't my mate's problem, he kicked me with his left foot to inflict more injuries as he enjoyed seeing me in pains. Thank goodness I'm a werewolf, the bruises healed fast as they weren't deep. "Take her home, at once," He ordered his personal assistant and turned to me. "Now get up and walk like a Luna, out of this place," he grimaced. I obeyed his command at once, as I was lead to the car by Todd, who sat beside me in the car and one of the Alpha's drivers drove at top speed home. I was totally scared of what the alpha would do to me when he got back from the memorial center, where he was supposed to see his late mother who also died the same day with my mom. I wanted to ask Todd how the alpha knew where I was, but Todd was his loyal subject, so I couldn't trust him. What will alpha Storm Holmes do to me when he returns to the estate? What can I do to avoid his already kindled wrath? 'River, what do you think the Alpha would do to us, when he gets back?' I asked my wolf through our mind link.
