first day in work
Her name was Sarah. She was nineteen years old, and that day was her first at her new job.
When she woke up, she realized she was late! She jumped out of bed, got dressed quickly, ate something, and rushed out of the house.
While running, she noticed some girls staring at someone as if they had just seen a ghost.
Curious, she looked to see who they were staring at—and saw a young man… no, a man with gray hair.
He wasn’t that handsome, honestly, but then she saw the man standing beside him… and it felt like love at first sight.
He was tall, dressed completely in black, with red hair… Oh my God, her first love.
Then she realized the red-haired guy seemed to be protecting the gray-haired one from the girls, and she figured he must be his bodyguard.
So she told herself, “He’s protecting that idiot.”
By the way, she noticed the gray-haired man was looking straight at her.
She stepped back nervously—and then noticed he was walking toward her, while all the girls screamed like he was heading for them!
She ran straight home, completely embarrassed—mostly because of the red-haired guy.
She waited until they left before heading to work.
When she looked out the window and saw they were gone, she finally left for work.
When she arrived, she apologized to her boss, who turned out to be kind of nice.
Her boss started explaining the project they had to finish that month.
After the explanation, a girl came up to her—she seemed like she wanted to be friends (and Sarah hated making friends).
She asked for her name, so Sarah told her, and the girl told her hers.
She was nice, Sarah liked her… but she didn’t trust her.
The girl handed her a book about the project and said, “If you don’t understand something, read this—it’ll help.”
Sarah thanked her and she left. That was… actually kind of nice.
A few minutes later, Sarah started writing notes about the project so she could remember everything easily.
After a few seconds, another girl suddenly came up and handed her a paper.
She said Sarah had to deliver it to the boss.
So Sarah asked,
“Where’s his office?”
The girl looked at her with pure hatred, giving her a bad feeling, and said,
“The last room behind you.”
Sarah nodded and started walking toward the room.
Something inside her whispered that this girl would become her enemy soon (just a weird feeling).
When she knocked on the door, a voice said, “Come in.”
She opened the door… and to her shock—it was him!
The same gray-haired man!
She froze.
He looked at her like he recognized her—of course, she was the same girl he’d been staring at that morning.
He asked, “What are you doing here?”
She replied, “I brought you this paper.”
He asked, “Are you new here?”
She said, “Obviously.”
He gave her a strange look (well… a romantic look—and she hated romance).
He reached out his hand to take the paper, so she gave it to him.
Before she could leave, he asked,
“Can we meet after work?”
She nodded and walked out.
She knew he liked her—it was so obvious.
She was a fan of Korean dramas; she knew that look anywhere.
She sat down and started working.
An hour later, it was break time.
Aaliyah came to her and asked if she wanted coffee.
She told her she hated coffee.
Then the boss walked in...
