Several weeks into General Tunner’s command and every last member of Operation Vittles adored him. The conditions for the crews had vastly improved, because he managed the living conditions for his men in the same meticulous and efficient way he attended to air logistics.
The first thing he had done was to separate sleeping quarters according to the roster, so that the nightshift could come and go without waking up the dayshift.
