Lavender’s POV
After a long day at the gym, i decided to head home.
By the time i get home,my legs already feel as if they have already given up on me
I kick away my sneakers by the door and drop my gym bag on the couch.
“I’m never going back there.” I say
Lisa’s voice comes from the kitchen when she replies.
“You said that last week too.” she argues
“I actually mean it now.” i pout
She laughs.
While i drag myself to the kitchen, she’s leaning on the counter and scrolling through her phone with one hand while eating cereal from a bowl with the other hand.
Sensing my presence, she glances at me.
“You look terrible” she comments
“Thank you”
“You’re welcome” she says
I open the refrigerator and stare into it without really seeing anything.
“Do we have food?” i ask
Lisa slowly lowers her phone and raises her head.
“Were you expecting a five course meal to appear magically?” she jokes
“ I was hoping.” i reply
“ Well, hope again.” she replies
I shut the refregirator, sensing something off with her i slowly walk to her position on the counter.
“Lisa…..are you mad at me? did i do something?” i ask
She looks at me expectantly as if she wanted me to remember something i didn’t.
“You were supposed to buy groceries on your way home so we could make dinner together tonight.” she accuses
OMG, i completely forgot.
I seemed to have forgotten everything i needed to do after a certain grumpy faced man bumped into me.
“I’m so sorry Lisa, i totally forgot” i plead
She rolls her eyes at my plea.
“Fine, i will go later” she proposes
I lean against the counter and contemplate letting her out alone.
“Actually, we will go together” i tell her
“ You’re going back outside?” she questions
“Yes, but i need to change first. “ i inform her
“Good. Because whatever encounter you had at the gym clearly wasn’t excercise.” she says
I frown and i’m left speechless because she’s as accurate as ever.
But i will not give up without a little fight.
“What do you mean by that?” i ask
“It meannsss, you look like you have been through a battle or some sort. “ she replies
“Well….”
I contemplate telling her. Don’t get me wrong, i share everything with my sister but i don’t want to bother her as well.
But she notices something’s off alread.
“Well.. What?? what happened?” she asks
“Nothing” i reply
She puts her bowl down and faces me.
“That was definitely a “something” she says
I give up, i’ll just tell her it’s not like i can hide anything from her anyways.
“ Something happened at the gym today.”
Her eyes widen.
“Did someone bother you?” she asks
“Not exactly “ i reply
“Did you get into a fight?”
I give her a look.
“Why and how would you assume that?”
“Because you’re you” she throws back
So i continue.
“I bumped into somebody and he was rude.” i start
Lisa encourages me to go on.
“The man bumped into me and he didn’t apologize let alone acknowledge my presence and somehow acted as if i was the problem. “ i tell her in a breath
“Wow” Lisa says i’m amusement
“Exactly!” i reply
“What was his name?” she asks
“I don’t know” i answer
And come to think of it, he knew my name but i didn’t know his.
“What did he look like?” she continues
I pause to think about it. He is without doubt a tall man with sleeper build body, piercing black eyes…not that i noticed.
And most importantly, annoyingly confident.
“I don’t know” i answer
Lisa stares at me as if she has just seen a ghost.
“What do you mean you don’t know what he looked like Lavender? please be for real. “ she says, almost pleading
“I do, i just….”
I stop, i don’t trust myself to say something sensible.
Lisa raises her brows and smirks knowingly.
“You just what?” she teases
“Nothing!” i reply, almost shouting
“You noticed him” she smugs
I wish i could just wipe that silly smug off her face.
“I noticed he was annoying”
“Sure” Lisa says
“Lisssaaa” i scold
“I’m listening” she replies
“He was just annoying.”i tell her
“And handsome?”she adds
“Can we talk about something else?” i try to change the subject
Lisa laughs, she’s clearly enjoying this way too much.
“Fine,Fine” she says agreeing
I grab a water bottle from the refrigerator and tell Lisa about the amount of paparazzi i encountered before entering the gym.
Lisa’s expression changes almost immediately and it lightens up
“Paparazzi?” she asks confused
“Yeah” i reply
“ Was he famous?” she asks
“ I don’t know” i reply
Lisa stares at me for a few seconds before her moth falls open in realization.
“Oh my God, are you sure you didn’t meet Abel?” she asks
I remember somebody with that exact name was the reason paparazzi were at the gym, but i didn’t know what he looked like.
“I’ve heard the name before” i answer
“ That’s not helpful” Lisa sulks
She picks up her phone on the counter and starts typing something.
“ You know the Lockwoods right?” she asks
“ The family?” i ask
“ Yes, the ridiculously rich family Lav” she answers
“I’ve heard of them.” i reply
In all honesty, i couldn’t care less myself about people lile that, but Lisa does.
“Welll, the “Abel” you met today is probably the Lockdown heir.” she says
“So?” i ask
“ So, apparently he has been every where lately. Business galas, interviews and the gym. ” she explains
I stare at her and i try to process whatever information Lisa is feeding me right now.
“You’re telling me i met a billionaire at the gym?” i ask
“Mhmm mhmm” is all lisa hums
And how am supposed to know if i met the “Abel Lockwood”? As if Lisa could read my mind, she shows me a picture on her phone.
I freeze.
That’s him, that’s Mr Grumpy face.
I’m not calling him that out loud.
“That’s him” i say
“ No way!?!You met Abel Lockwoo! ” she screams
“I didn’t know his name or who he was” i answer
“Honestly, even if i’d known who he was i would have still demanded for my apology. Being a billionaire doesn’t permit arrogance.” i explain
Lisa bursts out laughing. Did i c***k a joke?
“This is hilarious!” she continues
“It’s not funny Lisa” i tell her
“It absolutely is “ she says
I reach for her phone again, i need to see his face again.
“Let me see”
She pulls away.
“No, you’re just going to stare at his picture again”
“I am not!” i try to defend myself
“Sure” she replies sarcastically
“Whatever” i say
She finally hands the phone over to me and i take my time assessing his features, piercing black eyes, chestnut brown hair and he’s tall, probably a 6”1.
He’s handsome, i’ll give him that but his attitude is ugly.
I give Lisa her phone back.
“What did you say to him when you met?” she asks
“Nothing important” i tell her
“Lavender” she warns
“Okay fine “
I tell her everything. From the collision, to the argument, to the apology and his refusal and how he finally gave in.
By the time i was done telling Lisa,Lisa bursts out laughing so much she had to hold on to the counter.
“Do you think you’ll see him again?” she asks
I have a feeling i will, but i don’t say it so i don’t jinx it.
“No” i tell her
“You’re sure?” she presses
“Absolutely” i assure her
Lisa smiles.
“We’ll see “ she says
I choose to ignore her and change my gym wear to go buy groceries.
“Let’s go get groceries”
