CHAPTER 6

"Nora, why did you go out there" mom yelled at me.

" I just wanted to see the forest, no biggie" I shot back, me knowing what I encountered, I didn't want her to know that part.

" What if you were caught by a rogue, what then?" she looked worried, but wait wtf??

"Rogue???? what are you saying mom" I'm confused here, can someone help me.

"ummm...... just... you know what go to your room and be down for dinner in twenty"

"geez mom, relax. You're starting to sound like the weird kids in school and they're strange words " I said as I walked out of the kitchen.

I just sat on a couch in the living room, there's definitely something weird going on around here. Mum has never been this on edge before, what's going on. But what the hell was that out there, I didn't get a close look, all I saw were those glowy eyes. Should I tell mom, so we'll get the hell out of here?? nah, I'd still like to know what it is. I'm so stupid :⁠-⁠). But on a more serious note, I'm freaking out. I tried to calm myself down, taking slow, deep breaths. But my mind was racing with all sorts of frightening possibilities . What if it's something paranormal? What if it's a wild animal that's been attacking people in the area?, what if it fell in love with me and wants to eat me?? I shook my head, trying to clear the dust. I needed to think straight.

Just then, I heard the creak of the floorboards outside the living room. Mum was coming. I quickly put myself together, not wanting to alarm her further. But as she entered the room, I could see the worry etched on her face.

"Hey, sweetie, what's wrong?" she asked, noticing my blank expression.

I hesitated, not sure whether to tell her what I saw. But something about her tone put me at ease. "Mum, I saw something outside," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

Her expression changed from concern to worry. "What was it?" she looked nervous like she's responsible for it, I'm lost.

" I didn't see what it was completely, all I saw was just a pair of glowy ember eyes, maybe I was hallucinating, I don't know" I blurted out.

She looked scared but unsurprised at the same time, like she was expecting it.

" wow, that's something alright, maybe you were just overthinking. The only creatures out here are wolv.... ummm bears, birds, antelopes and other animals. There's nothing else, trust me" she assured me but I was not having that.

"You know what?, maybe you're right mom, I think I was just imagining things " I lied.

"Okay now dinner is ready come and eat please, and get some rest, you know you have school tomorrow" she said.

Yipeeee!! I get to go to that weird place, lucky me.

After dinner, I just went up to my room to have another shower, I had to get the forest stench off me. I laid in bed still reminiscing about what happened earlier today, I can't seem to get my mind off it.

Am I going crazy??!

I closed my eyes trying to sleep.

Alex's POV

'you scared mate' Xavier growled

" I scared her?? tf you were in control remember" I shot back at him.

' well we're both at fault '

"typical" I said.

"Now mate hates us, she's afraid of us we don't deserve her" I said to Xavier.

'get a grip bro, she's scared because she doesn't know or understand what we are '

" okay, but I told you it was a stupid idea to go after her" I said.

' well, you know you also wanted to see her beautiful face'

True, she's a beauty alright, I've never seen anyone as pretty as that in my life. Her full, long auburn hair, with green eyes you could get lost in. She has a very rare eye colour which I find very amusing. I wish I could have her all to myself now.

" Okay okay yeah you're right" I told him. Sometimes I wonder why the moon goddess paired me with this stupid wolf.

' I heard that you know ' Xavier growled.

" Hahaha you were ment to (⁠•⁠‿⁠•⁠)" I said.

I basically spent the whole day training, was supposed to do that with Tim but he's with his mate, Julia. That betrayal, I'll kill him.
