8.Unexpected surprises:
"Everything that comes in your way has a meaning"
I entered the building of the school with Harold beside me. The sun shone proudly just as me. The bright rays of sun were striking the glass panels of the faded red bricked structure and reflecting onto my spectacles which partly covered my thick haired unibrow. I walked through the corridors towards my locker in addition with wide grin plastered on my face for the first time, but unfortunately that smile suddenly dropped when I saw a piece of parchment attached on it.
"You are in big trouble" I repeatedly read the sticky note blankly with a fretful and peevish expression on my face.
"Yup! You really are in big trouble" while pulling out books from his locker Harold hid his smile behind his serious and solemn looks.
"And why is that??" I asked stupidly with a bothered impression that came across my face unpredictably and ran my fingers through my hairs, even though I knew what was coming.
"We have definitely figured that out!!" behind me Ron and John whispered together in each of my ear. I swiveled around to notice nothing but a playful smirk on their childlike faces.
"What are you guys talking about" I tried again to come through their exact meaning with an apprehensive and edgy appearance.
"You see our account manager has unfortunately resigned and there is no one..." Ron was explaining everything by making sad and distressing looks when John interrupted him.
"There is no one at least up till tomorrow to deal with his duty" he tried to pass a smile to John who was passing him deadly glares since he was broken up while clarifying everything.
"So??" I was still a bit confused though.
"Maybe you should take over ..." Ron continued. "No... no...no" I know what was about to happen next.
"Yeah! Until the new accountant decides to show up" John added. "But...but why me?? I haven't even finished my semester dude!" I was getting extremely nervous when Harold placed his broad shoulder beside me and whispered "Prank calls!"
"s**t man!" I knew if I denied it was far terrible than this all.
"God!!These boys"
Out of breath, after the second lecture, I walked towards the girl sitting on the bench parked in the yard. Each step I took was heavy and difficult in addition with every inhale breathless. I was wearing an over sized button up brown colored shirt over my jeans along with a cap that helped me to hide my face. My boys are unfortunately always ready. As I walked towards that girl with large strides trying to end up with my job as soon as possible, I revised my lines over and over again. Carrying a few pages attached in a file, I finally approached her. In cool and calm winter morning, I stood in front of her blocking the dim rays of sun that fell on her and that's when I found myself in an extremely jumpy and nervous state. "Ahmmm...ahmmm" I cleared my throat in order to gain her attention but right now she looked like the busiest person in the entire world.
"Excuse me miss ..." I tried again.
With black sunglasses covering her eyes, she looked up at me completely bemused and impassive. The desire to remove her glasses away since I was unable to see any sort of expression appear on her face was controlled as I stiffened my hands around the file. With the intention of removing her uncomprehending and perplexed looks, I handed the file forward but she remained unmovable and unbothered like a model during a photo shoot.
"Your...umm" I made an effort once again.
"Come on! You have to do this" I explained myself.
"You see that your...your installment for this semester hasn't been paid yet in which case you can also be expelled" lastly I did it when I once again noticed the same blank expression. Forgetting that all, I decided to handover the file to her but instead I was greeted with a cute adorable laugh. She continued laughing holding her stomach and I stood there with a confused look once again. Another time I wished to remove her sunglasses so that I could guess what was she up to. At last her never ending laughing ceased and eventually I felt like my dream come true when she detached her glasses from her shining and attractive face. Then she elucidated that today was her first day in this institution and gave a few reasons for clarification to identify that she was a new comer. I didn't focus much on her words because I was welcomed with a much unexpected surprise.
