Ann heard the doorbell ring. She wondered who it could be. Davey wasn't set to visit until this afternoon. She opened the door to find her girls standing there.
Good morning momma. Girls, good morning. This is a pleasant surprise. We thought we would ride out to see you. We brought your pictures and some scrapbooking supplies. We thought it would give you something to do.
Lacie layed the pictures out on the table for her to see and Mikayla laid out all the scrapbooking supplies. Oh, this is nice. It will give me something to do. Well mom, how have you been asked Mikayla. I have been good. It is a nice place. Has Davey been coming to see you? Oh yes. He comes by every day for at least thirty minutes. On Sundays, Katelyn and Landon come with him. Good. Have you made any friends? A few. I started playing bingo with a group of ladies on Tuesdays. That is good momma.
You feel up to starting on a scrapbook. Sure. I might need some ideas from you girls. Lacie picked up a picture. Well here is a picture of Grandpa. We might as well start with him. Mikayla pulled the box of pictures over to her and began looking through it. Lacie started showing her all the scrapbooking supplies and setting some to the side that reminded her of Grandpa. They spent the day going through all the pictures and supplies.
Lacie got on the laptop. She picked up the picture of Grandpa and said OK mom, tell me about this picture. Well that is your Grandpa William's baby picture. When was he born? He was born in 1925. Where was he born? He was born in Roanoke, Virginia. What were his parents' names? His parents' names were Henry and Edith. Did he have any siblings? Yes. He had 3 siblings. What were their names? Your grandpa was the oldest and then there was Lyle, Dorthea and Janice.
Lacie turned the computer around to show her mother what she had typed up. The information was typed using a nice font. She printed it out and picked up some scrapbooking scissors. She cut out what had been typed. The scissors made a nice wavy edge. Lacie took a sheet of the scrapbook paper and laid it out for her mother to see. She proceeded to lay down the printout, the picture and some of the embellishments she had chosen on the scrapbook paper. See, you choose embellishments to support your story. What do you think of it momma? You can lay it out on the paper anyway you want it. No, I like the way you have it. Alright. Now you take the glue stick and glue everything into place. Once the glue dried, Lacie held it up and showed it to her mother. Oh, it is perfect exclaimed Ann.
Well momma once you get all the pictures put in your scrapbook you should have a good story to tell. Thanks, so much girls. You are welcome. We need to head out. We will be back soon to see you and your scrapbook. Call us if you need anything at all or if you just want to talk.
They hugged and said their goodbyes. It was hard to leave her even though she seemed to be doing good.
