17. Really?

"Don't you think it's too casual? I mean who wears a simple jeans and top in their first date? " Any asked keeping her eyes glued on her textbook causing me to roll my eyes.

"Me,  you have a problem? " I asked her crossing my arms.

She has been trying to convince me to doll up like a barbie doll for this date with Ranbir from past two hours and it's getting really irritating.

"Oh c'mon Sanny,  don't you wanna give a good impression? " She asked standing up.

"God Any,  he specifically told me wear something comfortable like jeans or something. He made it clear that I need to look natural. " I told her for the umpteenth time and she rolled her eyes.

"Every guy says this but you shouldn't take them seriously. And don't you want your first ever date to be special?" She asked raising her hands up in the air.

"This is just a friendly date Any,  that's it. " I said sighing and she rolled her eyes again.

"Yeah whatever! You know what, go like this and embarrass yourself. " She said shrugging and sat down again taking her textbook.

I rolled my eyes and decided to head out,  he must be coming anytime now.

I headed out after having a final look at my reflection.

My clothes looked just fine, I had left my hair open and applied a bit of mascara and lip gloss. I'm not a make up person and he already knows it so I just hope he doesn't keeps his hopes high.

Heading out of the hostel, I found him standing near his car. He was about to make a call, probably to me but before he could do so I called his name.

"Ranbir. " I called out and he looked at me. He blinked once before looking at me continuously with a blank face.

I made my way towards him but didn't seem to bother. It looked like he was in some deep thoughts.

"Ranbir. " I clicked my fingers in front of his eyes, which successfully broke his trance.

"Huh? " He asked looking down and then at me.

"Let's leave. " I said and he looked around before giving a nod.

He opened the door of passenger seat for me and closed it after I got inside.

He made his way towards the driver' seat and started the engine without uttering a word.

He was really quiet,  which was really unlikely him.

"Are you okay Ranbir? "I asked him with concern and he looked at me.

"Yeah,  I'm good. " He replied looking in the front.

"Don't lie, I know there's something. You are just too quiet. " I told him crossing my arms.

"It's just that..." He trailed off and I looked at him eagerly.

"What is it Ranbir? " I asked and parked the car in side.

I frowned and he gulped.

"It's just that, you're looking extremely beautiful and I don't know how to- how to handle your beauty. " He said lowly,  looking down.

I looked at him for a second before bursting into laughter. He scratched his nape looking down.

"Aww Ranbir, who knew Bad boy could be this cute after all. " I laughed and he huffed.

"It's not that funny. " He said looking out of the window.

"It is. " I laughed again.

He shook his head and ignited the engine. I chuckled and looked out of the window with a big smile on my face.

"Won't you ask me where are we going? " I heard him asking after some minutes of silence.

"Nope, I know you won't tell me so why should I waste my energy. " I said shrugging and he chuckled.

"My company is making you smart,  I see. " He said causing me to roll my eyes.

"Yeah right. " I said chuckling.

"Sanyukta. " He sounded serious.

"Yup? " I looked at him.

"I'm not taking you out for some cliché lunch date. I'm not sure if it's appropriate for a date or not but I can assure you, you'll have fun. " He said looking really nervous.

"C'mon Ranbir you don't have to be this nervous, after all it's just a friendly date. " I assured him with a smile.

"Yeah right, just a friendly date it is. " He said looking away from me.

I just shrugged and started looking out again.

"I hope you're whole day is mine today? " He asked and I looked at him with a smirk.

"No,  I've have two more dates today. " I replied and he rolled his eyes.

"Yeah right. " He said causing me to chuckle. "You know what Sunshine, I'm sure as hell that it's your first date. " He added smirking and I looked at him with wide eyes.

"How do you know? " I asked in disbelief.

"That look on your face says it all and anyways, you have three bodyguards protecting you all the time. " He said shaking his head.

"They are not my bodyguards,  they are my best friends and you know what even I'm sure that it's your first date too." I said smirking and he smirked back .

"Definitely but I'm not as nervous as you are. " He said pointing at my hands, I was fidgeting with my fingers.

"Really Ranbir? And some time back someone just couldn't simply compliment me. " I said smirking and he rolled his eyes.

"Yeah cause I'm not used to all this— Dates and all. These have never been my thing, until you stepped in. " He said casually but his words directly reached my heart and as a reaction to this action, my stomach got filled with butterflies.

I've never felt this way in my life so far. His words were really flattering and I felt my cheeks burning.

"I know I'm good looking and you have a secret crush on me but the way you're staring is really distracting Sunshine. " His words brought me out of my trance and I looked down in embarrassment before composing myself.

"I was just wondering how can somebody be this ugly. " I told him with a tight smile and he raised his eyebrows in an amused way.

"Really Sunshine? Me and ugly never fit in one sentence. " He smirked causing me to roll my eyes.

"I would've loved to burst your bubble but I'm not that heartless after all. " I replied with a sweet fake smile and he chuckled.

"You can be really sassy, Sunshine. I like it though, the fire within in intriguing. " He said looking at me with a genuine smile.

I narrowed my eyes at him before flipping my hair and looking outside. I heard him chuckle and a smile made it's way on my lips. He flatters me a lot.

After that silence—a comfortable one, engulfed the car.

"When will we reach? " I asked him to break the ice.

"We're here. " He parked the car and I looked around in confusion.

The place looked like a complex or something.

We headed out of the car and he offered me his hand. I held it with a smile and we headed inside.

He pressed 10th floor in the lift making me suspicious but when we stepped out of the lift, all the my suspicion went out of the building.

"Really? " I asked in disbelief and he just bit his lip.
