18. The Date.

"Really? " I asked in disbelief and he just bit his lip.
"Um, if you don't wanna go inside then you can tell me. We can go to some restaurant. " He proposed nervously.
"Are you kidding me? This is just amazing and extremely unique! I don't think anyone would have come here for their date. This is fantastic. " I told him jumping and relief flashed in his face.
"Hush! I'm glad. I was literally scared. " He said chuckling causing me to grin.
"Shall we?" I asked pointing at the door and he nodded.
"We shall." He said and forwarded his hand which I held smiling.
We entered inside the door and saw a big enough, waiting hall.
"I'll be right back. " He said and went to the reception while I looked around.
There were bulletin boards which had pictures of happy people holding their guns in their suits. I smiled at those and looked at Randhir who was talking to the receptionist.
I seriously can't believe he brought me here. To be very honest, I was expecting some cliché lunch date but he brought me to this PAINT BALL SHOOTING instead. This is the most unique date I've ever heard of and I'm already loving the vibes of this.
I just can't wait to get inside the arena and start playing. This is going to be so much fun.
"We are in different teams. " I heard Ranbir say and looked at him grinning.
"Great!" I exclaimed and he looked down.
"Tell me honestly Sunshine, are you pretending that you're liking this place just to make me feel happy? " He asked looking at me nervously causing me to roll my eyes.
"Ranbir do you seriously think that I'll lie just to make you feel 'happy' ? Like seriously? To be honest, I was expecting a boring lunch date and I had my mind set up that I'll regret this one but you proved me wrong. And I'm glad you did this. " I told him smiling and he looked relieved.
Soon, with a grin on his face, he forwarded a ticket towards me.
"You're in team Blue, whereas I'm in team Red. All the best. " He wished and I took the ticket from him.
"All the best to you too, I hope you are not a sore loser. " I said and smirking and he raised his eyebrows.
"I hope the same for you. " He replied smirking.
"Where do I get the costume from? "
"Someone's too eager, I see. " He said smirking causing me to roll my eyes.
"Just tell me. " I asked and he chuckled before leading me to the area where we could get all our essentials.
We parted ways after taking our respective things to get changed. Getting inside my oversized Red jump suit and taking my helmet, I went to the room where my team was assembled. There were 6 members in total, including me and I introduced myself to them.
We did some plannings and checked our essentials during the war before heading outside.
Entering the war zone, I spotted Ranbir already standing with his teammates. He smirked looking at me and I smirked back.
"The rules are simple. If you get shot, you get out. The last one left will win this and the team will be announced as the dominant and winner. If you shoot your own teammate, you'll be eliminated along with the shot teammate. More the number of people you shoot, more the number of points you gain.
Team Blue has yellow paint balls whereas team Red has white ones. Play fair. Get started." The instructor instructed and got out of the glass door towards the monitoring room.
We took our places and got started. The first one to get eliminated was a boy from my team, who got shot by his girlfriend. Lovestruck!
The whole area had so many things to hide behind and we all were taking advantage of it. I hid behind a rusted car and peeked outside to get a glimpse of an opponent. I was about to shoot him/her when someone else did it. But the colour of paint was white, that means his own teammate shot him. I smirked at the double elimination and continued hiding and peeking when I finally saw Ranbir.
He was hiding behind a tree. I decided to go to him but stopped as I saw another opponent coming closer.
I aimed at that opponent and shot him/her on his stomach, eliminating him/her.
The person removed his helmet and I found out that he was a guy.
I smirked and out of no where my captain came beside me.
"Great Job. " She whispered and I gave her a nod.
Soon another person from my team got eliminated followed by one from the opponent team.
Taking the opportunity, I tip toed towards Ranbir who was hiding behind a rusted bench now.
I came in front of him and shot him but he did the same and we got shot at the same time, eliminating both of us. Damn!
We chuckled at out timings and came out of the war zone, smiling like idiots.
"That was amazing. " I told him grinning.
"I'm glad, I was really nervous though. " He confessed.
"Thank you so much Ranbir, you made my day. " I thanked him and he smiled.
"The date isn't over yet. Go get changed. " He said causing my eyes to widen.
"Seriously? Where are we going next? " I asked him excitedly and he chuckled.
"Firstly we'll feed the tummy of yours and then another surprise is waiting for you, Sunshine." He winked causing me to blush slightly.
"Okay, let's get changed first. " I told him and left to the changing room immediately.
I got out from that oversized jump suit and combed my hair. Looking at my appearance for once, I came out of the room to find Ranbir already waiting for me.
"Let's go. " I said smiling and her frowned.
"Don't you wanna know which team won? " He asked.
"Not really. " I told him and he raised his eyebrows.
"But you were being all competitive sometime back. "He said causing me to smile.
"Yeah, I was competing with you. And now that we are both out of this, it doesn't matters." I told him shrugging and he looked at me with amusement.
"You know what, whenever I think that I've started understanding you, you prove me wrong. " He said shaking his head.
"Understanding me is not so easy Mr. Malhotra. " I told him smirking and he chuckled.
"I see. Now let's get going, I'm starving. " He confessed.
"Me too. " I agreed and we left the one of the most amazing places I've ever been to.
