I couldn't help but giggle it was still 2 hours before my OB appointment and Noah can't sit still. "Noah, just stop you are like a kid on Christmas morning." "I can't help it Shelly I will get to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time. Mom, how much longer till breakfast is ready." June just shakes her head at him "sweety speeding up breakfast isn't going to make the time go faster just relax" "ahh you two are terrible you have already heard the baby's heartbeat. I haven't" I look at him o.k. "I am a little excited to first because I get to watch your face when you see the baby and hear the heartbeat second because today we will get to know the s*x of the baby" he starts to dance around the room "oh, boy June I shouldn't have told him that" we both were laughing at him. I couldn't help myself I pulled out my phone and started shooting a video of him dancing around. All of a sudden he stops looks at me and says "Shelly what are you doing don't you dare post that" "oops sorry it was f*******: Live" he smirks at me and says "you better be kidding Shelly. Just because your pregnant doesn't mean I won't get you back just means I have to wait to do it and I think I am going to start making a list" He lunges for my phone pulls it out of my hands and see's that it was just a personal video. "oh, I will get you for that one" He bends over picks me up out of my chair and holds me in his arms shakes his head at me "what am I going to do with you Shelly" I look into his eyes "just love me Noah" "oh, that's easy I always do."
When we finally get into an examination room I look at Noah looks green. "Noah, baby what's wrong." "Shelly there are so many things that could go wrong. I could lose both of you" I look at him and say "hey wait a minute this is just a sonogram calm down baby it shouldn't take more than a few minutes." June looks at him and says "don't believe everything you read on the internet sweety. Yes, childbirth can be dangerous but those are worse case scenarios." at that point the Dr. walks in looks at Noah and asks "Ms. Evans would you like everyone to leave the room" "no, Dr. as you know this is the baby's paternal grandmother, and this is my Noah the baby's father" "Oh, sorry I thought the other young man, sorry" I giggle not only at my Dr.'s confused face since in none of my other visits I explained who Lee was but Noah looked annoyed. "Oh, no that is the baby's Uncle and my best friend" "ahh o.k. got it" He pulls out a measuring tape measuring my belly and says Ms. Evans I don't mean to alarm you but it appears you a little larger than you normal for 6 months, but don't worry let me check things out." The Dr. squirts some jelly on my belly and I gasp and Noah is kneeling down next to in an instant glaring at the Dr. and he scooted back with his hands up in the air to show he wasn't touching me "did he hurt you Shelly" I couldn't help it I started laughing so hard tears where streaming down my face and when I looked at June she had let it out as well. Noah just looks between me and his mother "what's so funny you two" I look at him and say the two of you. You glaring at him like you want to put him through the wall and the Dr. is now too scared to touch me. I'm ok it is just cold he forgot to warn me" Noah hangs his head "Sorry Doc as you can see I am a little overprotective of my girl here won't happen again" the Dr scoots back to the table and grabs the doppler and starts to show us our baby. Talking through all the different body parts taking measurements on the screen. Shows us the heartbeat and turns up the sound" While all of this is going on I am mesmerized by Noah's face he looks just like a kid in a candy store. The Dr. clears his throat to get my attention "Ms. Evans do you still want to know the s*x of your baby" "yes, please" "O.k. then let's see Ms. Evans, it looks like your going to be having.......a boy" Noah grabs my face with his hands "a boy Shelly, we're going to be..." the Dr. cuts him off and says well that's why you little devil and a girl" Noah, fainted dead away. I tied to get up to check on him but the Dr. said don't move Ms. Evans I will check on him" He asks for help from one of his staff and smelling salts are produced out of the Dr.'s pocket "really Ms. Evans lie back and relax this happens sometimes" he said chuckling.
When Noah, finally came to he looked around and he was helped into a chair he looked and around and asked: "what happened." I started giggling "well when the Dr. told us we were having a boy and a girl you fainted my big strong bad boy always willing to fight to protect me fainted" he looked at me rolled his eyes "not funny Shelly" I look at the Dr. and ask "Why didn't we catch this before" "well sometimes one baby hides behind the other one and a second heartbeat can be mistaken for an echo because of it. This also brings up the due date by a month. So instead of March 21, you will be having these babies on February 21.
