Chapter 4: Rescued by her alpha

[Raquel] I don't know what time it is now. It is hard for me to know the time because my cell doesn't have any windows. I couldn't imagine that I ended up here. Ryker would never allow anyone to hurt me and, even up to now, I am still blaming myself for his death because I was there. I was there when that black wolf took his life. After the conversation that I had with Jillian, I came to the realization that I should accept my fate now. I should accept what fate will bring me. There's no other way for me to escape it and I have already lost hope. I am just waiting for the pack guards to return because I know it will be my end now. The moment that I heard the door open, I stood up and convinced myself that everything would be okay. I took a deep breath, and grabbed that opportunity to feel the warmth of the world because this would be my last day. I won't feel this anymore in the afterlife. “Raquel Woodley.” This is it. I could hear the voices of the pack guards. They turned on the light and my brows were furrowed. It's just surprising because Jillian wasn't with the pack guards. “I'm ready for my death. Just make sure I won't have to suffer before ending my life. Make it at once.” The pack guards walked in my direction. They held my arms and pulled me near the other pack guards. However, I can't stop being confused because it seems like the rest of the wolves don't look like part of Ryker's guards. Their clothes aren't cheap at all. “You should be Raquel Woodley?” My brows furrowed when I looked at the man in the middle who had just mentioned my name. “What is the purpose of asking my name if you kill me after this?” The man in the middle suddenly raised his brows. His lips formed into a smirk that made me even more confused. “You must be wondering about who we are. I am Aaron, an Alpha from the neighboring pack. We are here because we wanted to help you. I will bring you to my Alpha King and you owe your life to him.” My mouth widened from what I heard. It seemed like his words didn't want to sink in with me. “Wait… Wait…” They furrowed their brows. “Naive. You should be thankful that you were saved from your supposed execution. This Alpha is here because they wanted to take you. They pay money to make you free.” I turned my head back to the guard who was with Jillian last time. “You mean you are here to rescue me?” Another hope emerged within my heart because someone had come to rescue me. I just can't believe that this is happening. “Yes, sort of. My brother wanted you in our pack. I came here to get you for my brother.” My mouth widened, my heart pounded so fast. I don't care about whose brother this Alpha was referring to. All that matters to me, I was freed from my supposed death later. I will just take good care of his brother after I get out of here. It's just so overwhelming that someone is willing to help me. My family couldn't save me here. I just can't describe the happiness that my heart feels right now. “Please take me out of this cell.” Alpha Aaron nodded his head. He took my hand and pulled me out of the cell. I am rejoicing deep inside, and it seems impossible to me. Just when we came out of the cell, we suddenly met Jillian, who was surprised to see me outside. “Where are you taking this girl? I was tasked to bring her to the execution room!?” Jillian started to panic, while I was a bit nervous about what would happen. However, Alpha Aaron protected me. I was just surprised by what he did, making me look at him while my heart pounded. “She has already been paid, Jillian. Someone pays a lot of money in exchange for your sister's life.” It is one of Ryker's pack guards who explained it to Jillian. However, my sister shook her head as if she wanted to disagree. She tried to take my hand but Alpha Aaron and his men didn't allow her. “Step back or my Alpha will kill you. He warned us to keep his girl protected and if you dare hurt her, we don't have a choice but to punish you.” I just can't stop looking at Alpha Aaron because of the words that came out of his mouth. It never appeared to me that I would be about to hear these words. “She killed an Alpha. You cannot let her live because she's dangerous. I swear, Raquel will be a threat, so let us kill her. She needs to pay for what she did to her boyfriend!” On the other hand, Jillian doesn't want to give up. She's really willing to see me dying, and it's just so annoying. I just can't believe that she would do this to me. “You can't do anything because Raquel was rescued by her Alpha. It was my Alpha who saved her and if you dare to stop us, you might end up in jail as well.” Jillian stepped back from Alpha's words. I just can't stop thinking about some words that I heard from Alpha Aaron. Never did I imagine in my life that I would be rescued by an Alpha. I just can't wait to meet the Alpha who rescued me from death. “I will not allow it!” Jillian was getting on my nerves. She doesn't look happy that I am free now, and I would not expect her to be happy with me. Just before I leave this pack with my savior, I will just teach Jillian some lessons. She has been bullying me many times. I have to make her taste a glimpse of my anger for her. I asked Alpha Aaron to give me distance to face my sister. Jillian was still gritting her teeth, so I walked down in her direction. She was still looking at me, and before she could react, I slapped her in the face. The slap was filled with disappointment, betrayal, and anger after everything she did to me. “Just accept the fact that I am free now. You can't do anything about it, Jillian, so back off.” Jillian only shook her head while touching her face. “You can't escape forever, Raquel. I know that you'll suffer more from everything you did.” I just shook my head instead of fighting back. Jillian is wasting my time and I don't need to argue with her. She's not worthy of my time after everything that she did to me. Together with Alpha Aaron, we leave the Moonlight Pack to go to the place of my rescuer. I just can't wait to meet him. “Just ready yourself upon meeting my Alpha.” I nodded my head towards Alpha Aaron. “What did he look like?” Alpha Aaron furrowed his brows. I just felt my face blush because of my question. “He's not the typical Alpha you have heard from the fairy tale stories. He's the opposite one.” His words made me gulp.
