Chapter one: beautiful violet eyes
“Mama, what is that??” Taylor asked her mother as she pointed out into the forest at a shadow. She could not see more than an outline.
Her mother pulled her clothes on gingerly and looked out into the distance for any sign of what her child would have been talking about. Thankfully there was no cause for alarm
Recently there have been sittings of members of a rival pack lingering around the territories of their enemies and they happened to be one of their enemies and there have been killings and raiding which has in turn made the people of Full Blood pack double their security and be at alert so for a minute there she thought there were been watched or were about to be attacked.
“oh, baby, that is a deer. You cannot really see it from here because she is bent over drinking water from that stream over there. You see, there is something about watching the life moving around us that make us feel connected to the earth and everything therein. You should watch and observe them baby. Deep inside of you, you can feel that you are a big part of something even bigger if you think about it baby.” Kendra her mother pats her head and kisses her cheek wit loving attention. Even with her ‘disability’ her mother is still the only one in the entire pack that loves her absolutely and treats her not only like a mother treats a full member of the pack unlike every other member that either treat young Taylor like she is invisible or they treat her like she is trash and pick on her at any slightest chance they get.
Mama is different. She loves her little girl and does everything to make her feel like she is her most precious gift in the whole world. Papa doesn’t treat her well at all. He is not the meanest one out there but he yells at her and when he hugs Jennifer her sister he doesn’t hug her back, instead he pushes her aside and ignores her all the time. She always felt bad but Jennifer would share her candy, chocolate and her toys with her and then she’s happy again.
She loves her sister. Although sometimes her sister can be very mean and laugh at her when they are n school with other kids but at least Jeremy always has her back and is her best friend in the whole world, even more than her sister. She loves him more than Jennifer.
“mama. You know I don’t have a wolf. Flora says I am never going to have one and it is because the moon goddess didn’t think I deserved one anyways.” Taylor says sadly shuffling her feet.
Kendra gets on her feet and pulls Taylor into her arms so that they are looking at each other and she can communicate to her properly.
“i want you to understand something baby girl. You are a full wolf. Even more than some others. You are my beautiful baby. You are the best thing out there so don’t let anyone talk to you that way and make you feel bad when you have done anything to deserve it. You are beautiful my love” Kendra tells her.
“I want to be as beautiful as you are right now.” young Taylor lovingly rubs her face and smiles.
Kendra is married to the Beta who is the second in command of the whole Full Blood Pack. That makes her the right hand woman of the Luna. Luna Gwen. She is still the prettiest woman in the entire pack. With her blood red hair that is long all the way to her waist, her lean long body made her stand out and she’s also model thin. The way of the pack is that everyone wore small simple clothing that made it easier to change out of and shift especially when they needed to run or do so hunt for food.
Her clothes even made her long legs seem longer. She was stunning and everyone acknowledged it because she wasn’t proud and actually listened to her people because she didn’t have any mean bone in her body at all. Her soft laughter and grace reached out to everyone and wraps around you like a warm hug. Everyone was drawn to her. Even the hardest and meanest of men loved to talk to her and be around her and that is about it but at the end of the day there are some mean people who do not like mama and who also show that they don’t like me. When they think I am not paying any attention because according to them I am slow and a retard. And because I don’t have a wolf and I have the curse of the moon goddess. They act all nice in front of her because they want to get her favor but then they go right ahead to tell their kids to be mean to me and treat me bad because they can’t and fake smiles at me. The pack is a tight knit group except when they treat the Omegas wrong and then me.
My blonde hair is straight down to my lower back and it frames my face in its soft waves. I used to like my hair but now I wrap it in a tight bun or put it up in a ponytail so that way Ginny and her friends cannot pull on my hair anytime they want to be mean to me. I even let mama put it in that fancy braid thing she likes to do for me. I love it when she brushes my hair and sings to me. She is my bestest friend In the world and after her is Jeremy. Josie too also likes me very much but her mama doesn’t want us to be friends so that I don’t infect her with my curse as she puts it.
“you don’t need to pray to be as beautiful as I am baby girl. You are already very stunning and that’s the truth my precious little one. Now let’s go back home before your papa starts getting worried. He is going to complain about us wandering around at this dangerous time anyways.” she presses a kiss on m y chin and pulls me in the direction of the pack house.
“okay mama.” I grab her hand and walk beside me.
She must know that dad doesn’t really care about me running In the woods by myself but he loves his wife so much and he is going to do anything for her. I look at the way he dotes on her and worships the ground she walks on and I want that for myself one day when I find my mate. They are fated mates, the moon goddess ordained them to be together and love each other that’s why they seem like they cannot live without each other.
We trudge through the bushes and into our pack land where we built our houses. We live on our own instead of the pack house. We do have our own space in the pack house but both the Alpha and the Beta have their own houses and privacy where they get to do whatever they want with their living space. I love our living space because I get my own room and when I want to get away from everybody. It is my safe space.
We get to the entrance of our house and I can already see my father pacing. His eyes lock on us from the distance and watch us approach. He meets us halfway and wraps mama in his arms.
His worried eyes hold my mama’s own.
“where did you go Ken. I looked for you when I got back from the meeting with the elders but you were no where and then Jenny told me you went out for a run and took Tay with you. Why did you do that? You know how things are now with the Blackstone pack attacking and killing everyone that steps in their way. I know we are not on their radar but that doesn’t make us their friend to and we must always stick together. don’t go running without telling me again.” he grunts out and pulls her even tighter.
“why did you take Tay with you, you know that she cannot shift or anything then why are taking her with you?” he says.
“I know that she can’t turn but she’s still very young and we don’t know that for sure yet. There are a lot thing that can happen and change before she’s eighteen. And even if she cannot change into her wolf she’s still our daughter and she needs to connect with the earth and understand our way of life.” she chides her husband.
His face softens and he reaches for me and hugs me.
I melt into his embrace. Sue me. I love my father. He might not have the best way of showing that he cares about me but he means well.
