I gathered my stuff into my bag. I sighed looking around my science class one last time. I loved math and science. My dream was to go to school and pursue a career in science. I still wasn’t set in which area I would pursue. Maybe a biochemist? Or I could be a microbiologist. I heard the door and turned.
“I thought for a moment, this would be the first day in a long time I didn’t see you.” I said as Blake walked over.
“Hey! Today was hard for me. The longest we’ve been apart since our mate bond appeared.” Blake put his arms around me. I wiggled but his grip tightened.
“Blake, it’s time to go.” I said before he started to kiss the side of my head.
“Kiss me.” He said softly.
“Come on. If we’re going to this party, then we have to go get ready.” I said as he kissed my cheek.
“Kiss me!” He was more demanding.
“Oh my gosh!” I turned my head to him. “I don’t want to make out in my favorite classroom, so can we go?” I said with his face dangerously close.
“You had a favorite classroom?” Blake looked around.
“Of course.” I said as his grip around me eased up.
“Interesting.” He said before setting his eyes back on me. “Kiss me.” He said again.
“You’re not going to stop are you?” I asked as he shook his head. He leaned down to me and I placed my lips on his. We parted ways and he took a breath.
“See? That wasn’t so hard. Let’s go.” He grabbed my hand and we walked. “Let’s pick you an outfit for tonight.” Blake said as we approached his truck.
“You don’t need to dress me.” I said.
“I don’t want anyone getting ideas.” He opened the door for me and lifted me in.
“What’s that mean?” I asked before he shut the door. He got in the driver's side and started his truck.
“It means I don’t want anyone to think you’re available basically.” Blake said as he made his way to my place.
“Moon goddess grant me strength to make it through this day.” I sighed. “If you hadn’t noticed, I’ve never been very popular. No one will be looking at me, They’re all going to want to see you.” I said as the truck came to a stop. Blake said nothing and got out of the truck. I opened my door and Blake was there to help me down. He quietly followed me into the house.
“Hey kids!” Parker said walking by.
“Mr. Charles.” Blake smiled at him as I put my bag down. “Let’s pick an outfit” Blake said and Parked came back.
“What?” He asked.
“He wants to pick my outfit for the party.” I said and he looked at Blake.
“I’m uncomfortable with you kids playing dress up.” Parker said and Blake laughed.
“Dad! I’m not going to try them on.” I said going up the stairs.
“I just want to make sure it’s not something too revealing or says she’s looking for a date.” Blake said as he followed.
“Leave the door open.” Parker called up the stairs. We got to my room and Blake went straight to my closet. I sat on the bed and watched him sift through stuff.
“A turtle neck perhaps?” Blake asked.
“No.” I said and he moved more stuff.
“A sweater?” He asked.
“Be real please. It’s spring, it’s been warm the past few nights.” I said and Blake stopped.
“Maybe a regular shirt and jeans?” Blake looked at me.
“Sure.” I said as he walked over and opened my dresser. “Hey!” I said as he paused.
“What?” He looked at me.
“My underwear and stuff is in there! Just don’t get into it with our permission!” I said walking over and shutting my drawer.
“Ok, I’ll trust you can pick something appropriate.” He said and I smiled. “What!?” He grabbed my face.
“Blake!” I said, getting angry.
“You smiled!” He stated the obvious and I rolled my eyes.
“So?” I said.
“It was beautiful.” He said as I grabbed at his hands.
“You should go get ready.” I said softly. Blake leaned down until our lips touched.
“Hey! I see leaving a door open doesn’t discourage you kids!” We jumped apart as Parker talked. “Time to go Blake.” Parker crossed his arms.
“Yes sir.” Blake said, walking to the door. “I’ll be back for you and Jake at seven.” He said before Parker pushed him towards the stairs. I turned to my drawers and started going through them. I found a tight pair of jeans and a nice v neck shirt. I laughed to myself when I saw them, just knowing Blake was going to be unhappy.
I took a quick relaxing shower and started on a nice loose braid for my hair. I got into my clothes and looked in the mirror. He was going to hate how these jeans hugged my hugs and made my bottom look. I loved this shirt that showed part of my midriff off. If I raised my hands, you could see my belly button. I walked out and down the stairs. I could hear Jake talking to Parker and they both stopped when they saw me.
“No way.” Jake snickered. “You have to change.”
“What is it?” Amy came from the kitchen. “So cute!” She smiled.
“Cute is not how I would describe that.” Parker said.
“She’s not going like that.” Jake said, walking over and lightly pushing me to the stairs.
“No! I look cute. My first school party.” I smiled.
“Blake will die and then come back to life just to kill anyone that looks at you! I’m not going to be associated with that!” It was too late after the words escaped Jake’s lips. The door opened and Jake looked shocked. I turned and smiled at Blake as he looked me up and down.
“Nope.” He said, shaking his head.
“I told you!” Jake sighed. I walked to Blake and grabbed his shirt as I stood on my tip toes. He looked confused at first before placing a kiss on my lips. I smiled at him as we parted.
“Ok… is this some kind of seduction where I mindlessly agree?” Blake looked at Jake.
“I don’t know what’s going on to be honest.” Jake shrugged.
“Ok, let’s go.” Blake grabbed my hand.
“Seriously? You’re going to let her go like that?” Jake walked toward the door.
“My hoodie is in the car.” Blake said as we walked out.
