Chapter 14 - Jealousy.

“I think that will finish the project.” Harry said as he typed out the conclusion. Harry was my lab partner, not anyone special really. Just a smart boy with ambition as high as my own. Harry and I were outcasts in the fact I was adopted and he was half human. He didn’t have a wolf yet, and judging by his appearance, probably never would. “Great! We can finish out our highschool years with straight A’s!” I smiled at him. “Yes, my mother will be proud.” He chuckled. Harry’s mother was human, he took a lot of traits after her. Thick black wavy hair, tall slender body, and porcelain skin. “Are you excited to go to college?” I asked him as he typed. “Of course! I got into a good one and my dad is hoping I can come back and work for the alpha. Honestly I just want to make a comfortable living.” Harry looked at me. “It’s a shame you probably won’t be able to go.” “What do you mean?” I asked. “Well aren’t you mated to the alpha?” Harry asked. “Technically.” I said sitting back. “What’s that mean?” Harry went back to typing. “It means, Alpha Caleb has ordered a rejection but Blake is taking his time. I think he’s just trying to make his dad mad.” I said and Harry laughed. “I don’t think so.” Harry said as he hit the last button. “What’s that mean?” I looked at him. “I saw you guys holding hands. He looked so proud walking the hall. Before that, someone said he would stare at you. That could be the bond, who knows.” Harry got up and went to the printer. I heard Blake’s voice in my ear saying how long he had waited for that moment. A shudder went down my spine. “Well that’s it?” I asked standing up. “Yep! Both our names on it. I’ll drop it off on my way out. Are you walking home?” Harry asked. “Yeah, it’s not a far walk.” I said as we both walked out of the classroom. “I can give you a ride home. You’re just a street away from me.” Harry said. “That would be nice, thank you.” I smiled. Harry walked into the science class and dropped the project off on the desk. He came back and we walked out laughing and talking. “Hey!” I heard Blake and sighed. “Who are you?” Blake marched over and grabbed my hand. “That’s my lab partner! What are you still even doing here!?” I sighed. “I’m Harry Branson.” Harry said casually as Blake glared at him. “Seriously, why are you here?” I asked. “You said you were staying late and it said it was going to rain so I came to get you.” Blake said without taking his eyes off Harry. “See you tomorrow?” Harry looked at me and we both froze when we heard Blake start to growl. “What is wrong with you!?” I said pushing him. “I’m about to challenge him if he doesn’t back off.” Blake said to Harry’s confused face. “Stop it. Take me home.” I said walking away, but stopping to Blake’s hold still on my hand. “Blake!” I raised my voice. “Just so you know, she belongs to me.” Blake said as he walked to me. “Okay?” Harry chuckled as he walked to his car. “You said I was infuriating!? He’s my lab partner!” I said as we got to Blake’s truck. He opened the door and lifted me up. “And I don’t belong to anyone!” I yelled, slamming the door. Blake got in on the other side. “You never said your lab partner was a guy! You come out all smiles and laughs. You don’t ever do that to me!” Blake said as we drove to my house. “Oh my goddess you’re jealous because I laughed at his joke!? You’re insane.” I said as we pulled up. I threw his door open and slid to the ground. I grabbed my bag and went to the house. Blake grabbed me and spun me around to look at him. “You. Belong. To. ME!” He said each part individually and I stared at him. “Quit saying that sh*t!” I said pushing on him. He let go of me and followed me into the house. “It’s true!” Blake said as I dropped my bag in the entryway. “You act like Harry Branson was trying to take my body!” I yelled. “Harry Branson? That nerdy human kid?” Jake said, looking into the entry. “He had her laughing and smiling!” Blake said. “Oh my goddess! Please Moon goddess, forbid me to smile at a joke told by another man!” I threw my arms up and walked up the stairs. “He’s leaving in a month anyway for college.” I heard Jake say as I got to my room. I started taking my shoes off. I turned and jumped when I saw Blake standing there with his arms crossed. “Are you seriously that upset?” I asked and he nodded. “You should’ve told me you were staying after school alone with a guy.” Blake said sternly. “Regardless of whether this is your business or not, school is out soon. You won’t have to ever worry again.” I shook my head taking off my hoodie. “Did anything happen?” He asked and I stopped before I got to my coat hooks. “Now that’s insulting.” I turned to him. “I think you need to leave.” I said flatly. I was trying to not let the utter frustration take over. “You didn’t answer me.” Blake said. “Nothing happened! You can go now.” I walked into the bathroom and slammed the door.
