“I’m sorry.” Blake said as I got into the dining room for dinner.
“Whatever.” I said sitting down. He sat next to me. “You’re staying for dinner?” I asked.
“Of course, your mom invited me.” Blake said. Jake carried in a salad and set it down.
“Are you going to Jamie’s graduation party?” Jake asked, looking at Blake. I hadn’t heard about Jamie’s party, nor did I care.
“Are you going?” Blake looked at me.
“I don’t think I was invited.” I said as Amy walked in with a nice roasted chicken. Parker followed with a bowl of mashed potatoes.
“Then I don’t think so.” Blake said and Jake scoffed.
“You’re not going to go because she’s not going to go?” Jake said, slightly shaking his head. “Unreal.”
“What’s wrong son?” Parker asked as he started to fill his plate.
“Jamie is throwing a graduation party, and Blake won’t go if Kelsi doesn’t go.” Jake said, reaching over and grabbing food.
“Oh Kelsi, you should go!” Amy pipped up.
“I wasn't invited, go without me.” I said filling my plate with salad.
“Everyone from our graduating class is invited.” Blake said.
“There you go kiddo!” Parker smiled at me.
“Go without me.” I said peeling off part of the chicken and cutting it to sprinkle over my salad.
“It’ll be fun.” Blake nudged me.
“People will expect to see you. People will care less if I go.” I said as I mixed my salad with my fork.
“She has a point Blake.” Jake said, watching Blake’s unease.
“I don’t want to be without my girlfriend.” Blake said and the table all stopped.
“I’m not your girlfriend.” I said and everyone slowly started to eat again.
“Kelsi, it will be nice to say goodbye to all your friends. A lot of people are going to be leaving for college soon.” Amy said as I pushed the food around on my plate. I started to miss the days that Blake came over and spent all of his time with Jake or Jessica.
“Fine.” I said and Amy clapped.
“Seriously?” Jake said, looking at me. He shook his head and pushed his plate away.
“We’ll have the house to ourselves!” Parker announced and Amy giggled. Jake sat back looking at everyone. “You ok bud?” Parker asked, noticing Jake’s standoffish behavior.
“Yeah.” Jake stood up and walked off.
“I’m gonna go chill.” Blake said to me as he got up.
“Ok?” I said not really caring. I finished eating and then helped Amy clear the table.
“You’ll have fun.” Amy said suddenly.
“What?” I asked.
“At the party, I’m certain it’ll be fun.” Amy turned and smiled.
“Jake doesn't want me there.” I said putting the Tupperware in the fridge.
“No one wants their siblings at a place where they can have fun.” Amy turned back to the dishes.
“I don’t care if Jake’s there.” I said to Amy.
“It’s different. He’s the protective big brother. Not to mention, you’re taking his best friend.” Amy said as she scrubbed the dishes.
“What! I am not!” I got upset for a moment. “I mean, I can see why he’s upset that Blake follows me everywhere.” I said thinking about it.
“Listen, Alpha Caleb and your father are and were best friends back then. Of course I grew up with them too, but we weren’t close until the mate bond. Alpha Caleb didn’t meet Rayna for a few years after that. I was always to blame for why your father didn’t want to go out and play. Once Rayna came along, that all changed.” Amy finished the dishes and dried her hands.
“Once he rejects me, he can have his friend back.” I said and Amy stared at me.
“I don’t think that’s going to happen sweetheart, but we’ll see.” Amy walked by me and I went to my room. I closed my door and got dressed for bed. I got into my bed and grabbed my book. I began to read, but couldn’t concentrate. Rereading pages while my mind wandered. I shook my head, there has to be a rejection coming eventually.
I woke up, it’s still dark but I can suddenly feel my bed shift. Before I could turn, I felt an arm wrap around me. I placed my hand on the arm.
“Why are you here?” I whispered.
“It’s just a moment. Jake fell asleep and I promised I would stay in his room, but your scent keeps wafting in.” Blake smelled my hair.
“Let go! You have to go.” I said struggling for a moment. “I’m serious, my parents will be very upset.” I said.
“Ella, it’s just a moment.” Him softly saying my name stopped me. I slowly moved to face him.
“Why do you call me that all the time?” I asked. Amy had made it a point to everyone my name was Kelsi. She had always wanted a daughter and to name her Kelsi. She would get angry if anyone called me otherwise.
“That’s your name.” Blake said with a slight laugh as he brushed my hair from my face. “You used to correct me, then I would get yelled at by your mom. It was like you were trying to get me in trouble. You would always smile after.” I thought for a moment.
“I don’t remember that.” I said watching his face as it inched closer. “It’s been a moment by the way.” I said.
“I thought we were having a moment!” Blake was slightly loud.
“Shhhhh! You’re going to get us in trouble Blake!” I covered his mouth and whispered to him. He grabbed my hand and started laying kisses on my palm. Little tingles emitted from his lips and I started to grow hungry for his lips on mine. I placed my hand on his cheek and leaned forward. Blake met me halfway, placing his lips against mine. A warmth spread over me and I didn’t hesitate to let him deepen our kiss this time. I felt his hands on me, exploring my body. His hand rested on my breast as we parted. I took a few deep breaths and pushed forward kissing his jaw and neck.
“Ella? I think I should go back.” He breathed out.
“Oh Blake, don’t stop.” I gripped into his shirt and whispered to him. After the words escaped my lips Blake quickly pushed over me. He lips on mine as he pushed up my shirt exposing my breasts. His fingers ran over my n****e and I broke free letting out a soft moan. His mouth quickly found its way to my chest, sucking and flicking my n*****s with his tongue. My heart started to pound faster and I bit my lip trying not to make a noise. Blake kissed down my stomach and suddenly that was it. I snapped back and Blake realized it too when I started to frantically fix my shirt. He pushed up and hung his head.
“I guess you’re not fighting me, growling, or running away.” Blake said as he moved to the edge of the bed. I covered myself up with my blanket.
“Aren’t you going to go?” I asked.
“Give me a minute.” He said.
