I transformed back from my wolf and took deep breaths. I grabbed my backup set of clothes I had hid just in case. Something like this had happened before, I had to sneak in the house completely n***d. I threw them on and walked out. Of course as soon as I stepped out Blake’s truck pulled up. I ran to the door and threw it open.
“Kelsi!” Blake called after me. I ran up the stairs.
“Everything all right?” Amy called after me. I got in my room and quickly locked the door. I took a few steps back and sat on my bed. I jumped when I heard the knocking.
“Kelsi?” Blake’s voice was worried through the door.
“Go away Blake.” I yelled out.
“Kelsi come on!” He pleaded. “I just want to talk.” He jiggled the knob.
“I don’t want to talk.” I said getting up and going into the bathroom. I closed that door and locked it. I started to get undressed. I could only think about his spit stuck to my body, I have to get it off me. I started the shower and quickly got in. I scrubbed my body and sighed. I started to feel terrible for how I left things. Why did I feel guilty? He’s always been a jerk without a care. I stayed in the shower for a bit just relaxing. I got out and wrapped myself in a towel. I threw my hair up into another towel and walked into my room. It was quiet and I got into some pajamas. I realized my phone was still in my backpack, not that anyone ever really messaged me. I would read for a bit, just to make sure the coast was clear for sure. I looked around my room. My book is in the bag as well. I took a deep breath and walked to the door. I opened it and couldn’t hear or feel anything. Has Blake really left? I came out and slowly made my way down the stairs. I started digging in my bag and retrieved my things.
“So.” I heard and jumped.
“Mom, you scared me!” I clutched my chest.
“What was that about?” My mom’s arms were crossed.
“Nothing!” I said, making my way back up the stairs.
“STOP!” Amy said and I froze. Rarely did she ever raise her voice to us. “I know today was an off day for you, but Jacob finally convinced Blake to leave with him to cool down.” Amy crossed her arms.
“It just… I just… I.” I took a deep breath.
“Wait.” Amy suddenly looked concerned. “Was he inappropriate with you?” She gasped. “Was he forceful?” She whispered.
“No!” I yelled and ran to my room. A moment later Amy was there at my door. I set my stuff on the bed.
“Ok then what?” Amy crossed her arms again.
“I don’t know! Maybe I don’t hate him as much as I thought or maybe it’s the bond. I can feel it growing.” I sighed. “I don’t want to be tied to Blake Westley for the rest of my life!” As soon as the words left my lips, my phone started to buzz like crazy. I grabbed it and groaned. “Jake gave him my number!”
“Kelsi talk to me.” Blake’s first message read.
“Did I do something wrong?” Blake’s second message read.
“I’m sorry, can you just reply?” Blake’s third message read.
“What do they say?” Amy came looking over my shoulder.
“He’s not sure what happened.” I said reading the messages as they appeared. I started to type after the last one came through. “There’s nothing to talk about.” I typed and hit send.
“Gosh you’re cold.” Amy walked out of my room. My phone buzzed.
“That’s bullsh*t!” Blake’s message read. I held the button to my phone down until it shut off. I decided to read until I fell asleep.
I woke up from a restless sleep. I got up, changed, and got ready for school. I came out of my room and went down stairs. As I entered the kitchen, I could feel everyone watching me.
“Ok what?” I turned.
“Nothing.” Jake said, pushing the cereal around the bowl.
“You could’ve answered him.” Amy said and Jake dropped his spoon. “What?” Amy turned her attention to the sink of dishes.
“I’m sorry, I had nothing to say.” I said holding a juice in my hand.
“Yes, but you made him angry by ignoring him.” Jake said, putting his bowl in the sink.
“That’s not my problem.” I replied walking to the door.
“It’s going to be when he sees you.” Jake said, walking past me to the car. We rode in silence and when we got to the school, Blake was there in the parking lot. Jake parked and quickly left. I got out of the car, face to face with an angry Blake Westley.
“Where’s your phone?” He asked and I dug in my pocket. I held it out and he grabbed it. “You turned it off of course.” He powered it up and the phone started to blow up with messages. “You’ll never, NEVER ignore me again!” I glared at him.
“Don’t tell me what to do!” I said as I started towards the school. He grabbed my arm and yanked me back. “Blake!” I looked at him with a mix of confusion and shock.
“Kelsi.” His voice was stern.
“What!” I said angry.
“What happened yesterday?” He pushed me and I stumbled.
“You’re being a real jerk, you know that?” I said and he sighed.
“Talk!” He demanded.
“I snapped out of it and things were moving faster than I felt they should.” I said glaring at him.
“Why didn't you say that!? Why did you freak me out and ghost me all night?” Blake took my hand.
“I don’t know!” I yelled at him and he shook his head.
“You’re infuriating.” He said.
