Chapter 12 - Secrets.

We got home and Jake went straight to his room and slammed the door. I walked into the kitchen where Parker and Amy were stuck in each other's embrace. “Everything ok?” I asked as I opened the fridge. “I just got home.” Parker said, rubbing Amy’s back slowly. “Ohhhh!” I said and stood for a moment. “Dad, I had a question.” I said and Amy moved to look at me as well. “What is it, Kelsi?” He asked with a smile. “Well, I know you have some magical powers. Is there some reason I can’t feel the mate bond? Well not that I can’t feel it, that I’m not overcome with the powers of it?” I asked and Parker looked at Amy. “I’m not a hundred percent sure why.” Parker said and Amy nodded. “Let’s go sit somewhere and talk.” Parker motioned to the dining room and I walked in there. I sat down and my parents took their normal seats. Amy smiled at me and Parker took a breath. “Kelsi, alpha Caleb wants me to ask you again, if you can remember anything from the past.” Parker put his hand on mine. “Before you came to us sweetheart.” Amy clarified. “Only what you already know. My mom is singing Twinkle twinkle little star, then meeting you and asking my name.” I said and Parker nodded. “Do you remember anyone or anything about the people around you?” Amy asked and I shook my head. “Whenever the memory wanders in, I can only remember the way the fire danced. I don’t even remember her face anymore.” I started to feel choked up. “It’s ok Kelsi.” Amy patted my hand. “Wait, was there a reason he wanted to know?” I asked and they exchanged a look. “No.” Parker said and I watched him. His no was unconvincing. “I don’t believe that.” I said. “I’m sorry, some things are classified information. I wish I could elaborate for you.” Parker said and I grew confused. “What?” I said before looking at Amy. “I’m sorry sweetheart. He can’t even tell me.” Amy said as some kind of softened the blow type thing. I got up and started walking to the door. “Kelsi, it’s nothing important. I would never hide anything important from you.” Parker followed. “Sure.” I said walking out. As things couldn’t get worse, Blake was getting out of his truck. I heard the door open behind me. “Kelsi?” Amy called, but stopped when she saw Blake. “What’s going on?” Blake asked. “Nothing, take me somewhere.” I said walking to the passenger side. “Help me?” I turned to him. Blake looked back at the house as Amy stood there with her arms crossed. He walked up and helped me into his truck. I started to buckle as he got into the other side. “Well I never thought this would happen.” Blake said as he started his truck. “Where are we going?” He asked. “You can drop me at the edge of the forest for all I care.” I said, crossing my arms. “You’re just using me for a ride!? Here I thought you wanted to go on a date or something.” Blake said as he turned up a path towards a viewing area. Mostly for tourists that passed through. “A date!? With you?” I scoffed. “Well gosh Ella, don’t be too excited.” Blake said as he turned and backed into a spot that overlooked the valley. Blake parked and got out. I opened the door and started to slide out. I felt Blake grab my sides and place me on the ground. “Thank you.” I said before walking toward the forest when Blake stopped me. “Wait, you’re not going to sit with me?” Blake asked and I looked back at him. “Come on Ella, you look like you need someone to talk to.” He popped the tailgate and I walked back. I stood by him and he picked me up, knowing I was too short to hop up myself. “So what happened?” Blake asked. “Nothing. Just more secrets.” I said looking out at the landscape. It truly was beautiful up here. “What secrets?” Blake asked. “Just secrets! Parker and Amy are always secretive about the past. It’s really annoying.” I sat there with my arms crossed. “Well if I knew, I would tell you.” Blake said. “Thank you I guess.” I said, Blake scooted closer to me and I scooted away. “Tell me, why don’t you like me?” Blake asked. “Do you have to ask?” I said looking at him. “Yes.” He said. “Because out of everyone, when I got adopted, you treated me the worse.” I said. “You know I was a kid then right?” Blake said. “When you threw rocks at me? Yes, but treatment like that from you didn’t stop. You pushed me, called me names, and have never been kind.” I said feeling my anger towards him rise. “Oh those were jokes Ella, lighten up.” Blake said. “Oh sure, because of you the kids called me rouge until I was ten.” I said and Blake started to laugh. “I forgot about that.” He said. “You were so tiny and creepy watching everyone. Used to freak me out.” Blake sighed. “You don’t really hate me do you?” He asked and I looked at him. “I’m tired of talking.” I said looking over the side of the tailgate. I started to judge the drop and if jumping off would hurt. Blake put his arm around me and pulled me into him. “Avoiding the question huh?” He asked. “I’m not avoiding anything.” I said pushing on his arm. “You’re like a feral cat.” Blake watched me struggle. “What’s… ugh!” I stopped and looked at him. “What’s that even mean!?” I said. “You’re cute, but when you try to hold or pet you. It’s a fight.” Blake said and I glared at him. “You’re ridiculous.” I was annoyed with his reference. He put his hand on my cheek as his other arm held me close. I grabbed his hand as his face inched closer. He stayed close without saying a word. “A-are we still playing your game?” I asked and he nodded. His lips were almost on mine. I felt like a magnet, pushing that last inch for our lips to touch. His hand caressed my cheek as the other teased the bottom of my shirt. Him touching my bare skin made everything tingle. His lips left mine and quickly moved to my collarbone. “Oh Blake.” I softly breathed out. I could feel his hand on my stomach as it slowly moved up. Any moment I’m going to snap out of this. Any moment I’m going to break free of his spell. His fingers teased the edge of my b*a and my mouth found his once more. His hand pushed my b*a up and felt my breast. Pleasure spread over me and I pushed forward into his lap. His mouth left mine and he pushed my shirt up, taking my n****e into his mouth. I gripped his hair letting out a soft moan. He moved to kiss my chest. “I’ve dreamed of this moment for so long.” Blake said, when suddenly I snapped out of it. I quickly pushed off of him and jumped off the tailgate. I hit the ground on my knees holding myself up onto all fours. I looked at Blake who was super confused about what just happened. “What? What the f*ck?” Blake stared at me. “I…” I stood up and took off to the forest.
