Food came swiftly after that and everyone was quiet. It was uncomfortable and I wanted to leave.
“So, It’s nice to have you join us again.” Luna Rayna said.
“It’s always nice to see you all. Are we still on for tomorrow Rayna?” Amy asked and Rayna nodded.
“Yes! Spa day for the pack house girls! Holly and Carla are coming.” Rayna said happily. I rolled my eyes and looked at Jake. Amy always came home complaining after hanging out with all the pack house women.
“I would like to see Parker, Kelsi, and Blake alone.” Alpha Caleb said.
“Let’s retire to the patio for dessert. It’s so beautiful outside.” Luna Rayna had such a way with words. Maybe that’s why Blake could lie so well and quickly too. Jake patted my shoulder and got up. He followed Amy out as the rest of us stayed seated.
“Parker, remember what we talked about?” Alpha Caleb asked and Parker nodded.
“I do.” He said flatly and they both looked at us.
“Interact.” Alpha Caleb demanded.
“What do you suppose I say?” Blake asked, staring back at Alpha Caleb.
“I heard she’s immune to the bond. So interact so I can see.” Alpha Caleb motioned to me. We looked at each other and I glared at him.
“See her expression?” Parker said.
“I do.” Alpha Caleb pointed at me. “Stand.” He said and I stood up. “You, hug her.” Alpha Caleb pointed at Blake now. Blake stood and I crossed my arms when he got close. He wrapped his arms around me.
“Ok… ok that’s enough.” I said, not really caring that this was what Alpha wanted.
“You’re right. It appears she’s immune to the bond. Miss Charles?” Alpha Caleb said and I turned to him. “Can you feel the bond?” He asked and I looked at Blake.
“Yes.” I said and Blake smiled.
“She’s completely immune.” Parker said, looking to Caleb.
“That’s not true. When I kiss her, everything changes for a moment.” Blake said, grabbing the back of my neck and moving me back. His lips met mine and I pushed for a moment. My grip loosened as I felt the tingles run through me. We parted and I stared at Blake for a moment. Suddenly my face flushed realizing where we were.
“That looked uncomfortable.” Alpha Caleb said.
“Agreed. She should want to kiss him.” Parker and Caleb looked at each other.
“We agree. Rejection.” Alpha Caleb stood up.
“I already told you no.” Blake gripped me closer.
“Son, that’s the bond talking. Once the rejection is done, we’ll find you a new mate. One that returns your affections.” Alpha Caleb smiled.
“No.” Blake said.
“Why?” Parker asked. Blake stared at him and then Parker and Caleb exchanged a look.
“You can’t give us no answer and expect us to overturn our decision.” Alpha Caleb said.
“Come on.” Blake said before pulling me away.
“Where are we going!? Blake?” I said as he led me out of the dinning hall. We got to some stairs and I started trying to use my weight to get him to let me go. Blake let out a sigh and lifted me up.
“This is ridiculous! Why can’t you just reject me? Everyone wants it!” I watched as we got to the first door at the top of the stairs. The door opened and the room was filled with books. “Where are we? In a study?”
“Yes, the least visited place in the pack house.” Blake said as he set me down.
“Is it some kind of defying your parents type thing? Because I’m over it.” I said sitting on the couch. Blake watched me sit and then looked at the door.
“You’re not trying to run away.” Blake stated the obvious.
“You always catch me, and I’m tired.” I looked at him as he reached over and locked the door. “Why?” I motioned to the lock.
“Because I don’t want to be interrupted.” Blake said walking over and sitting uncomfortably close to me. “You wore the dress I asked you to wear.” Blake’s hand trailed my arm. I pushed it off of me.
“I said I would.” I answered back quickly. Blake leaned over me. As soon as I turned, his lips were on mine. Warmth spread through me and this time I let his tongue in when he tried. I melted into this world where this feeling of fireworks controlled me. He pulled away and started l*****g my neck.
“Blake.” I let out a soft moan as I called his name.
“Say it again.” He almost demanded as I snapped out of it. I started to push on him and he sighed. “I could mark you right now and we’ll see if there’s a change in this resistance you have towards me.” Blake seemed different.
“My dad can remove marks! He’ll just remove it if I ask!” I said pushing on him. Blake grabbed my hands and held them above me. I looked at him in shock.
“Then I’ll mark you again!” He said loudly. “You belong to me. Why don’t you understand that!?” Blake’s voice was stern.
“I.. I don’t belong to anyone!” I glared at him. He let me go and sat back. I pushed myself up and looked at him.
“If you want to play this game, then we’ll play.” Blake said as I looked back confused. “Everytime we see each other, our bond is stronger. You’ll crave my touch sooner or later. You already want me to kiss you.” Blake smirked.
“T-that’s not true!” I said and his face got close to mine. I grabbed his nice button up shirt.
“Your face is almost begging me to kiss you right now.” Blake wasn’t wrong, some part of me wanted it. Instead he got up and went to the door. He unlocked it and turned to me. “Just remember you started it.” Blake opened the door and left. I took a few breaths and stood. I looked around the room and noticed books on the shelf that looked like they were hand written. I saw one with a date on it I recognized. I looked at the door and contemplated for a moment whether to look at it or not. I decided to go find my family instead.
